Almost a year ago, I was lent THIS SAME pair of cable cutters to break my trailer's seal. They went through it super easily, and I was impressed enough to take these pics to remember it, and eventually get my own. The guy at the dock told me they'd had that pair for 4 years and were always happy with it.At the time, it was not available on Amazon, and I couldn't find where to get them. Recently, I decided I needed an upgrade on my crappy cable cutter, and went searching. Lo and behold, THIS MODEL is on Amazon, a bit more expensive than some similar ones but well worth it. So, finally finally, I own this and expect to be happy for years to come with it! After all, I don't break the seal on dozens of trailers every single day... just once or twice a week!Update: 6 months later, still works like a charm! I actually use it more than I thought I would, it's great on all sizes of cable seals, as well as the flat metal ones.

Good value. No complaints. I'm cutting 1/8" wire rope. If you have smaller hands, you may need both of them for that size or larger.

I suppose it would be 5 stars if it was perfect. It's very good, and a solid buy for the money, but not quite perfect. The only problem(s) I've had are these. 1. The handle has a plastic spring between the grips that helps to open the cutter if you're using one hand. The spring has fallen out a few times. no the end of the world though. The other thing is based on the cutter opening when fully opened. Just barely wide enough to maneuver your target with one hand. Again, not the end of the world. I've cut 3/16 steel wire with it and it does a very nice job with that cable size and below. Great cutter for the price for sure.

As a Truck Driver, I have to be able to cut off a variety of cable locks from my trailer. This is the first Cable Cutter I've tried that cuts through all of them like scissors cutting paper. Super easy and reliable!

These are great for cutting small braided cable such as trailer seals

I have a spool of 1/8 army surplus galvanized steel cable for a deal I could not pass up. So I purchased a 19" Pittsburgh cable cutter from HFT for $20 and did not have big expectations but was extremely disappointed. The first cut was relatively easy with a little force and maybe the second actually cut through but it was toast so I converted to a Dremel tool and what a pain. After quite a bit of research I bought a pair of these and could not wait to try them out with skepticism that a pair of cutters this small could work well. OMG, tried them out on a piece of 1/8" cable I had laying around and barely squeezed... it was like the cable was not even there and it cut right through and clean as could be. I had to check to make sure it was 1/8 because it cut so easily and cleanly. Will have no problems putting ferules on it. Can't say how long it will last but given how easy it was right out of the box I am sure it will last through most if not all of the remaining spool of cable.
