Ruthless Trust: The Ragamuffin's Path to God

One of my favourite books in book-shelf.

The book was assigned for small group reading and emphasizes trust and silent prayercontemplating our humility in and around life

This book is wonderful! However, for ordering a brand new book, I was disappointed that it arrived with a largely bent corner upon taking it out of the package. More care and attention to detail needs to be taken into consideration when packaging these types of items—especially paperback books.

This is my second time reading this book. I relate to Brennan as a recovering alcoholic of 22 years now. He speaks of the unwavering love of Jesus which is steadfast despite our imperfections. He encourages transparency with Lord like no else can

After reading this book, I was renewed. Better than any book about the Gospel Truth I’ve ever read! We Christians allow ourselves to get bogged down instead of just humbly accepting God’s Grace & Love in our lives. Every page of this book is an inspiration because every page speaks to the simple truth that God loves all us regardless of who we are or where we’ve been.

Whatever book you are in the middle, put a bookmark in it and start reading this. Manning speaks as one who is immersed in the moment, seeing Jesus’ grace alive around him, & learning how to live abiding in Him - ruthless trust

This is an excellent challenging and though provoking study on Trust, Ruthless Trust at that!People of faith will realise that in todays modern society, the use of the word faith is somewhat frowned upon as a negative term, often associated, subconsciously or otherwise with the term "blind faith", which of course believers in Jesus know that is not what faith is. (blind that is). Rather it is the glorious hope of the promises made by Jesus.So I highly recommend that you read this book as its discussions on trust, which to the unbelievers ears sounds more reasonable and thought out, will I am sure strengthen you faith.As you read the passages, stories and metaphors promulgated by the authour think to yourself "does the word faith also work in this passage" and re-read it substituting the word trust with the word faith.Are they different words for the same thing?Are they so intertwined with each other that they are inseparable orAre they both different sides to the same coinRead the book, be fed, enjoy and decide for yourself.

This is a stunning book - it will change your life. Encouraging, challenging, insightful, honest, Worth reading slowing, take your time and ponder.

Brilliant book. I would read it over and over again. This is a treasure.

This author is so real and I identify with his reality of life. To know God as He really is who loves me just as I am....... To get rid of the clutter of myself, religion, wrong expectations is so freeing......

Knowledge of the background about the author will help the reader to see into his thinking. It is a good discussion starter.
