Bulldog Home brew kit - Triple Tykes Special Export Ale
T**T
When you've found 'the one'.
I've been through a few kits...the worst IMO being coopers single can kits of ale...I found Triple Tykes to be the best all rounder...not weak..so your homebrew lasts longer..& not too strong in taste...a really nice easy drink comparable to having a pint of bitter at your local..but I think much nicer..& hoppier. The bladder bag it's in (as with other bulldog brew kits) is a breeze to use over tins & once emptied....pour some hot water in..replace cap..& give it a good shake to get the last bits of malt out. The kit's also supplied with a tbag full of hop pellets which you hydrate in a mug of boiling water before throwing it in your fermenting bin. There's also a more generous 10 gram pack of yeast. This kit is now my main home brew drink & have ordered my 5th as I think it's that good! Their easter chocolate stout is good too. Got a second batch of that brewing too. If you want something with less alcohol, then I can't recommend enough St Peter's Ruby Red ale. Just liks this..it's another absolutely gorgeous drink. And brewing these kits right...you really wouldn't know they're home brew. On a side note...sometimes kits can get 'stuck'..& all activity..ie bubbles...has stopped...stalling at well below hydrometer/abv target reading...& leaving you thinking it's finished & you've ended up with a much weaker brew. A gentle stirring up of the bottom of the fermenting bin can usually get it going again.

The mighty Tyke.
Not a bad export ale. If you like moderately strong Newcastle Brown with more hops and bite you will like it. Not really my thing.
