Apple iLife '06 (Mac DVD) [OLD VERSION]

The problem with Mac Engineers: Engineers are NOT users. They simply get bored, and change things for no apparent reason except to sell more software. The fact SOME users, (like 4x producer of the year and 16 time award winner ME) liked the previous layout are irrelevant. Rather than allow users to 'master' a software, and excel, it's changed. but not tested, then released. Example: slow/fast/reverse USED to be 3 separate functions, allowing one to make hilarious videos. 'Slow motion water running backward into a glass, etc. ' But this was changed. Sure one could master FCP, but what one could edit in a few minutes on Imovie would take several hours or days goofing around with FCP. Consider adobe.

Need to change my review as the seller was not aware of the missing IPhoto and Itunes and therefore was not at fault on purpose. After several discussions, seller has refunded money and tried and tried to upload her personal copy so that I could finish my grandduaghters video but it did not work. Her effort is to be aplauded and more than anything the honest and quick response. I am so disappointed but she didn't know it was not a complete package and therefore should not receive a negative review. I would gladly do business with them again and sorry it did not work out...

Its great, but the version I received was not "new" as the shrink wrap wasn't from Apple. I bought iLife '06 knowing the application and after regretting that I didn't buy it when it was new on the shelves. I wanted a copy, but sent it back before I opened it after seeing that it had been opened and re-shrink wrapped. BEWARE! I guess buy it used and hope for the best.

As of May 2013, iMovieHD 6 still runs on modern Apple Intel machines even with OS X 7 and 8. You will need to use Pacifist to install it for OS X 7 & 8 though. Pacifist is $20 shareware.

Hate to say it, but I liked iLife '06 a lot better than the upgrades. It was easier to use -- more user friendly. I hate having to have a one-to-one class just to get started in the newer versions. That's why I ordered it again, to put it back on one of my machines for when I'm in a hurry to get something done.

I originally purchased this product for the Garage Band program but discovered there is a lot of great stuff on here. With imovie I am transferring my old VHS stuff to dvd and I am building a web site and,... well, you get the picture. I am no computer expert but after installing this stuff I am doing things I never thought I could do before. Certainly worth having!

I just got this old Mac a few months back and was looking for garage band and the other programs for it and I found this on amazon and they work great.

Will not open with Mavericks. I spent $60 for nothing. The specs did not indicate this would be a problem. All I wanted was iMovie HD on my new Mac!
