these are flatish on the bottom, will stand on their own while you fill them but then once you put a leaf or trimming in it, you will need a stand for it. they dont always leak when laying down sideways but sometimes will, so its best to keep them upright. the top is stretchy so you can put a rather large milk weed leaf in it and it will expand. i am even putting small tree branch-lets in for my Polyphemus moth larvae , it will keep a nice supply fresh all day and night. they are a nice small size to also fit in smaller bug keeper tanks, see my photos. read my other reviews on bug rearing items . i raise monarchs and other bugs for fun.

I work for a florist and one of our contracts requires these at the end of there stems of orchids. This is perfect. Small not noticeable. Just what we needed. I've been ordering them for a couple years now.

Love these! My kids always like taking flowers to their teachers and glass vases aren't great for little ones to take into school on their own so these have been a handy alternative (also look a bit nicer than with paper towel in a ziploc)
