Great grass replacement
I was getting tired of spending lots of money every year, treating my grass lawn, only to always have it burn out anyway during the dry summer months. I noticed a neighbor had some clover growing, in patches, and it was always staying green. So I did some research and it turns out clover lawns need less water, and it stays green longer, and it spreads. Some countries are even switching their golf course lawns to clover because they are easier to keep green. So I though I'd experiment, and start my front lawn in clover. Well it's been a year and I'm very pleased with the results. Nice and green, don't have to mow as much, and once it gets growing, you don't have to water as much as the regular grass. It's a pain to get started, the directions say to water 3 times a day for about 2 weeks, so I did that and I've had good results. I wondered what would happen if you put fertilizer on it, and so I tried a very small patch, and it did kill the clover, the directions say NOT to use fertilizer. So don't do that. You'll have to hand dig out the dandelions, but I find I don't get a lot of dandelions because the clover is so thick.I also found I could apply the clover seeds earlier in the year, say April, when it's cooler and by May it had a good start. With grass, you have to wait until it's a bit warmer. So now I'm also converting my backyard to clover. So that's my clover story. Story addition, 8/28/22. During bunny season I'm finding bunnies liked to eat newly growing clover! Oh oh, planted a couple of spots where the grass died during this dry summer, started watering, clover was growing well, and a couple of bunnies who just took up residence in my backyard decided the new clover tasted pretty nice. Oh well, they left the now older clover alone. so watch out for those bunnies!

Nice and green, easy to grow clover for our large back yard!
It was easy planting SeedRanch White Dutch Clover Seed: Nitro-Coated and Inoculated. In mid-October, I raked the area a bit, then spread the seed with a hand-held seed/fertilizer spreader. I added grass seed to the clover but you may skip this step if you wish. I could have also scattered the seed by hand, without the spreader. We watered the seed daily with a sprinkler, and it sprouted within just a few days. We use it in our back yard to keep it green and improve nitrogen in the soil. . The previous owner of our house had dumped poor quality, sandy, stony fill dirt in order to level out a deep drop in the yard. Crabgrass grew the best here! Now we have lots of clover plants turning our yard a nice green; honey bees love it and so do the rabbits and woodchuck on our property.

Easy to grow seeds with a large sucess rate.
Threw them on the bare ground and watered; they turned a ruddy-red color and did nothing for a solid 5 days.Watered again (the sky did it this time) and then 2 days later almost all the seeds started sprouting. The crows, bluejays, cardinals, sparrows, etc. didn't touch them while exposed either, probably due to the coating on each of the seeds.

Seed Ranch White Dutch Clover Seed (2 lbs.)
I bought this for some spots in my yard that just wouldn't grow anything. My problem was trying to use a hand held grass seed spreader, which didn't work well since the clover seed is so fine, about like the poppy seeds you find on bread or muffins. I ended up trying to sow by hand and didn't do very well, missing some spots and clumping on others. It took awhile to sprout but I kept it watered and eventually it came up. I was a little wary of the results but it really did take off and spread out. It's doing nicely and I'm happy to have green instead of dead spots. Unfortunately we don't have honey bees anymore like we use to, undoubtedly due to all of the poison everyone spreads to make their lawn look like a golf course.

Grows in moss!
I just ordered my second shipment of this white clover seed, nitro-coated and Inoculated. I have bare spots and weeds in my yard and was tired of mowing up dust when I mow my grass. I tried planting the seed in areas next to the woods where there is moss growing. At first I raked off as much moss as possible, then got a bit tired of raking it and tried sowing the seed in both bare spots and the mossy areas. The seeds sprouted in a matter of days, I think 3 days. However, to my surprise the seeds on the bare spots did not sprout, but they burst up out of ground in the mossy areas. I was delighted because now I knew that I could sow the seed and really didn't have to do anything. I watered it regularly and made sure it had water before dark to prolong the dew in the morning. I have added two photos to show my results. I can't wait until next spring when I will be mowing it. Plus, I have a few rabbits running around and they will enjoy it. I know there will also be bees, but I will time the mowing when they are least likely to be feeding. Because of the nature of this seed I anticipate that, as the clover matures and grows, it will not only fill out the bare spots, but it will crowd out the weeds.

Don’t waste your money on this!
I spread this seed twice over a prepared strip of my yard and watered it religiously every day to keep the seed moist. After 4 weeks, only a tiny clump of clover germinated. Over 95% of this seed failed to grow. I sent an email to the company with photos but have not gotten a response. I would advise against buying this seed. Very disappointed.

Good seed, great ground cover.
The 1st pound we mixed with cornmeal and spread with a drop spreader. Then there was a huge late spring ice storm and we thought this clover was done for. We ordered a 2nd pound and spread it mixed with rice. Our yard was being pecked constantly by birds and squirrels. We didn't have much hope of ever getting clover. Ha ha, we we're wrong. It finally sprouted and took off! Our yard became the neighborhood rabbit hangout. Literally, rabbits would lay down in the clover and just enjoy. When it flowered the bees came. Such a joy. It was also the only yard that stayed green through the dry July. It handles being mowed. We have mostly sunny clay soil.

Did I get the right clover?
We have planted this in various areas. You get sprouts right away, but that's it. It has never matured beyond a tiny sprout. I am not sure if we got micro clover or something is off with this product. Plus, it will not hold up to foot traffic.
