NOISY!!! The first time it started I thought the cat was urinating on the floor!! Does not sound anything like a waterfall or rain just, urinating... The filter that was supposed to be installed wasn't there. The water stays dirty because she wants to play in it and it doesn't recirculate enough to keep it clean, even if it did.. there's no filter. Spooked my small 3 month old kitten the first week.. now she comes running to play in it. but, she's not drinking much water. Much bigger than I thought it would be and a huge pain to take apart and clean. the pump will not stay attached to the bottom by the suction cups. The only thing it's got going for it is that it is battery operated. I don't have a plug in handy where this bowl is. That being said... Did I mention it's noisy... yeah, really noisy..

Concept is a great idea - I looked around for a long time before I found a battery operated pet fountain. This product could really benefit from a few tweaks.It wasn’t very easy to put together. The suction cups on the motor were not very strong and kept coming undone when trying to assemble. Also it doesn’t really snap together or anything. The water tank base part just rests on the bowl and it makes it difficult to pick up. Also refilling it is unwieldy, due to the fact that you fill the bowl and not the water tank. You’re supposed to fill it up leaving only a quarter inch - the dirty water sloshes on the floor (and me!!) when trying to bring it to the sink to dump.It gets dirty pretty quickly. My cat was very interested in the stream but that also meant a lot of debris got into the water. It didn’t really get filtered out and it wound up blocking the hole for the water stream. I had to clean it out with a toothpick.When switched on, the fountain is not continuous. It cycles every 20 minutes. I actually don’t mind this, but I don’t think this was very clear in the description. I also do not mind the volume. It’s not really very loud, but it was louder than I expected it to be, which could definitely be a dealbreaker for some people. It does sound closer to peeing than a running fountain.The battery panel is screwed shut, which isn’t a big deal but is kind of annoying for when you do need to change the battery. The wire connecting the batteries to the pump seems like it would be secured underneath but sort of just is shoved into the base.So I have a pretty long list of ways that this could be improved, but the plastic is very sturdy and I really like that it’s battery operated. The battery life seems to be pretty good too. I’ve had this several months and have not had to change out the batteries.

Love the idea however like others have mentioned, the return to bowl opening from reservoir clogs VERY quickly! Maybe a design change to multiple openings could help so pump doesn’t run dry which causes it to make a lot of noise. Otherwise runs quietly - just the white noise of water fall.

It was not to my cats liking

The fountain failed to recycle the adequate amount of water after the fountain filled the bowl once. I got it to go again by turning it off for a minute and back on. I got this fountain because it is battery operated. I don't recommend a fountain this size for two rambunctious cats because they knocked the entire fountain over twice while playing chase. My cats did like the water fountain action filling the bowl. I think it would be perfect for a less active cat or a small dog. The product dealer kindly accepted a non damaged return and issued a refund. The battery operation worked fine and is convenient if you don't have an accessible electrical outlet.

It appeared to be easy to assemble. It was not. It was almost like the pieces didn't fit.It never worked as described. The water ran for about 10 seconds then shut off. It sprayed everywhere.My cats not only wouldn't go near it. The wouldn't even go in the room with it.Massive fail.

I loved the idea of a battery powered fountain that can be placed anywhere, however this model needs some improvements. If you have cats that like to put their paws in the water like mine do, anything on their paws falls in the water and gets sucked up into the tower without being caught by the filter, this then plugs the drain hole so that no water comes out into the basin. The tower does not snap securely to the basin which makes it difficult to pick up the unit to empty and clean. The rainfall sound which is supposed to attract cats doesn't look or sound like rain and though my cats do like trickling water they were not interested in the fountain any more than their water bowl. I have made some improvements of my own by putting a mesh over the holes to catch debris before it gets in the tower and also enlarged the hole so that debris will be flushed out and to create a larger stream. I would prefer a pocket on the outside to place the filter in making it easier to replace and to cover more area , by doing this the tower could be changed so that it could be securely fastened to the base.Update: The pump is shot already and I see no where I can get a replacement. I have cleaned it as shown by the manufacturer every two weeks, fresh water at correct level daily, and new batteries. The pump starts only if I spin the fan, as soon as I put it back together and add more water it stops. COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY.

The fountain is a bit bigger than I expected. Assembly wasn't too bad, I had some trouble figuring how to get the tank on. My cat who likes water running from the tap wasn't impressed with the little stream of water but he drank from the bowl. I don't like having to empty and refill daily because food particles go to the bottom of the bowl and aren't moved to be caught in the filter. I'll need to conserve water where I'm moving and so may donate this to a shelter.

The media could not be loaded.  I decided to give this fountain a chance even after reading some not-so-great reviews. Unfortunately, the reviews are correct. When the fountain is pulling up the water, it is pretty loud - loud enough to make my cat run away. I did not read in the product description that the running water actually turns off to save battery power so it's a crap shoot whether or not your cat will get flowing water when it goes to the fountain. I timed the cycle - the fountain starts and stays on for about 10 minutes. It took about 18 minutes for the fountain to come back on. This is unacceptable for anyone who has a cat that will only drink from running water. My cat went over to it when it was off and simply walked away. Also, unless I'm doing something wrong, the cat cannot drink from the top except for a very short time at the beginning. I had to turn it off completely at night because of the noise it makes starting up.Very disappointed. Listen to these reviews - don't bother purchasing this product. I am returning for a refund. I just got a Cat-It Fountain for half the price and my cat loves it already and it's super quiet.

When first received, trying to line up the pump and hide the cord, which has a large connector, is too long, and no dedicated storage is nearly impossible. The water hole is too small to feed the bowl without bocking up after about four fills. Then after only a short amount of time, like two weeks, the pump failed and would not work.Dreadful design and an inferior quality pump. Just threw it in the binI would not recommend it at all

Not impressed that it’s not returnable, I took one look at it and don’t think that they will use it, now I’m stuck with something I haven’t even usedThe stars don’t mean the product sucks I honestly don’t know if it does as I haven’t tried it. It’s just too big of a bottom bowl and all plastic

I've looking for a battery operated pet fountain for such a long time. Great find.
