Love this iron
Thank you Miele! I have only ironed about 5 items in the last 12 years, but we just purchased a Bed and Breakfast so ironing cotton sheets is now a priority in my life. I cannot express how much I love this iron. I can iron a whole set of Queen sheets and make a bed in the time it used to take to iron one fitted sheet with a regular iron and board (with far less desirable results).

Good, but not perfect. Speeds up ironing large table linens.
It works well for large table linens. You do have to pull the linens out into your legs as you iron, otherwise they will bunch up and wrinkle. This machine will remove 90% of the wrinkles, however, it's not perfect and you will still need to go back over with a hand iron to finish the job. Regardless, it's still much faster than using only a hand iron. It gets 4/5 stars since a hand iron is still required to finish the job for large table linens.

DO NOT BUY!!!
I have had this 'thing' for less than a year and it exploded on me just this morning. I would not advice anyone to buy this. The steamer does not work properly. It is worthless. $3000.00 to iron cloths for less than a year?!!!!DO NOT BUY!!

FUNCTIONAL BUT NEEDS SIGNIFICANT IMPROVEMENTS
1. AS IT IS COMMON THESE DAYS, I RECEIVED A REPACKAGED RETURNED PRODUCT FROM AMAZON PRIME. HOWEVER ALL THE PARTS ARE COMPLETE AND DEVICE IS NOT PROBABLY USED.2. Needed additional $600 expenditure for electrician for a new 30 amp circuit, 240 volt wiring into the laundry room, , special European NEMA 6-20 plug , conduits and 2.5 hours of labor for 2 electricians.3. Not height adjustable. Women < 5.1 feet can not reach the foot plate from a comfortable chair height.4. The cloths get caught on the roller and wind around the roller frequently and sometimes due to static. We will not notice it until it is late. If we are not careful the delicate silk will be damaged. The roller can not be rotated in reverse to unwind the rolled cloths.5. The distance between the roller and the ironing table is limited for large sheats6. The bar behind should be off centered or eliminated to improve drawbacks NO 4 and 57. The heat settings can be better. Full heat is not enough for thick cotton such as pants and genes. We can not use steam for silk cloths.8. Operator frequently burns hand while refilling the water due to location of the water inlet.9. Reservoir is too small and holds only 0.8 liter or 20 minutes of steam iron.10. Miele company should provide at least an extra iron cover with new unit, since the cover becomes brown within few weeks and need to be washed or replaced.11. Not easy to iron a shirt or pant with metal zip.12. Any dress with large buttons or fancy wok with glass or metal work can not be ironed on Miele.THESE ARE FEW OF THE DRAWBACK WITH THIS VERY EXPENSIVE GERMANY MADE EQUIPMENT. SIMILAR TO ALL THE GERMANS MADE EQUIPMENTS, AND CARS, WE HAVE TO DEAL WITH INNUMERABLE USER UNFRIENDLY IDIOSYNCROCIES OF THE MAKER.FINALLY THE UNIT IS ONLY GOOD FOR SMALL MOTELS AND CLINICS TO IRON SHEETS.

Well worth the extra money...and better than a piece of jewelry
I went through a long debate about buying this rotary iron and the reviews were very helpful. I did have an electrician put in a 220 line. I also did the research about the Singer rotary iron, but when I called the various Singer distribution centers 4 out of 5 didn't know what I was talking about. Before I bought mine, I called Miele to ask some questions and ended up talking to real human beings who were gracious and well-informed. Not ten minutes on terminal hold with bad music playing in my ear. I considered the 990 which a friend of mine has, but you have to dampen the items beforehand and I don't feel that well-organized. With the HM 16-80, you plug it in, add tap water, and press the button. Takes maybe three minutes to heat up. I haven't mastered the big items, but napkins and pillow cases are a breeze. I've discovered there's a whole subset of women who love to iron and it's like a secret club. The rest of the world thinks we are truly nuts.

You MUST hire an electrician for the 220 plug. I wish I had known to have done in advance.
I adore the iron !! I had first bought one from RELIABLE corporation on Amazon which arrived broken and they never fixed. I wish I had done the meile from the beginning . I didn’t realize the plug was an American plug found out on Fb thankful for all the members who told me what to do. After that what a WONDERFUL iron. You can get dry cleaning perfection for anything. My rumpled tea towels , sheets, shirts, pants and dresses are perfect ! My housekeeper is Spanish speaking so we downloaded the instructions in Spanish and printed it out. I keep it in my mud room and iron so easily. Best purchase ever and SO SORRY I WAS CHEAP AND BOUGHT THE RELIABLE COMPANY IRON THAT NEVER WORKED AND THEY NEVER OFFERED TO FIX. Stick with meile they know exactly what they are doing !!!

I looks like all of my clothes are professionally cleaned and it ...
Works well for smaller linen and Laundry items. A bit combersome for large sheets. I took the guard and bar off for more flexibility. Linen gets caught up on the right hand side with the guard and bar attached. I'm using it for all of my pants and t-shirts too. I looks like all of my clothes are professionally cleaned and it only takes a few minutes. It's actualy fun!
