Happy with the purchase
I recently upgraded to the Russell Hobbs Steam Power Generator Iron and it has been a fantastic addition to my laundry routine. As someone who does a lot of ironing, I was looking for a high-performance iron that could make the task easier, and this model definitely delivers.First off, the 1.3L removable water tank is a huge plus. It’s easy to fill and doesn’t need frequent refilling, which is great for large loads of ironing. I’ve used it for several hours straight, and it never runs out of steam. The iron's steam output is powerful and consistent, making quick work of even the most stubborn wrinkles. I love the ceramic soleplate—it glides smoothly over all types of fabric, and it’s non-stick, so I don’t have to worry about it leaving marks or getting caught on clothes. The iron heats up really fast too, so there’s no waiting around for long. One feature that has truly impressed me is the steam pressure. It provides a powerful burst of steam that helps smooth out tough creases in just one pass, which makes ironing so much quicker. The continuous steam function is also really handy for ongoing work, especially on larger items like bed linens or curtains. While the iron is a bit larger than my previous one, the powerful steam output and ease of use make it worth it. It’s easy to store the iron, and the design is sleek and modern, so it doesn’t feel out of place in my laundry room.Overall, the Russell Hobbs Steam Power Generator Iron has exceeded my expectations. It’s powerful, efficient, and makes ironing much less of a chore. If you’re looking for an iron that offers excellent performance, I highly recommend this one.

Efficient iron but steam delay annoying
This is a good overall design. I have used a Bosch steamer for years but limescale build up created brown marks and spluttering after a couple of years so hope this will not be a problem with this model. The most annoying thing compared to the Bosch is the steam delay after pressing the steam button. It takes a few seconds by which time if you are ironing a small area like a sleeve or collar you have dry ironed the area before the steam arrives so you end up steaming the ironing board rather than the item! I can't seem to get the timing right so far - having used an instant steam generator like Bosch! It also initially makes a worrying juddering noise and takes a while for the first steam jet to get going. The steam doesn't seem that intense but it does get the creases out of very dry cotton bed sheets and pillow cases better than my old Bosch. No spluttering or marks so far but early days to know how efficient the lime scale filter is. I am using filtered tap water to keep scale down to a minimum as these irons are way too expensive to keep replacing!

I absolutely LOVE this iron!
What can I say about this iron? Well, my husband bought me one after I had loaned my daughters, and it's a joy to use. It's very light to hold, which is helpful because I have arthritic hands, and it irons like a dream. It makes a good job of lightweight tops on the lowest setting...steaming both sides from one side ironing! And jeans, they are so easy to iron with this and they don't even need to be done on full heat! I have used this iron on a great many types of material and it gives consistantly good results. I have to say that I am deeply impressed! My daughter bought one when they had just come out, and mine is an improvement on her one. I get the ironing done in half the time it used to take me, and that makes me very happy. I will be telling all my friends about it.I can't express just how happy I am with this product. Oh, and be careful! When you use the steam setting...it gurgles for s second or two, then the steam floods out and boy is it ever HOT! Don't use it on the highest setting for the jeans and corderoy trousers you may have, because you won't need to! As it's hot enough on the first steam setting to go through even hard denim etc.I couldn't be happier with mine!

Ironing is easy
Been wanting a steam iron for ages ... so fed up with having to refill the water in my conventional steam iron. Plunged for this ... not the cheapest, but by far not the most expensive either. Its fantastic! so easy to use and irons the driest of linen shirts with just one pass. did a couple of hours ironing and only got half way down the water chamber. Only downside I would say is that it did turn off (in idle mode) reasonably quickly. If I emptied the dryer and folded it went into idle mode. Only took about 30 seconds to come back up to steam mode though. no water droplets on the clothing either.Packs away nicely. Plug cable goes around the unit and the iron/water cable hooks into a holder. The iron/water cable does get quite warm.

Love this iron. This is the third one I've owned over many years. This one looks and feels better than my previous ones.

Light iron but leaks water in clothes while steaming
I have often thought of buying a steam generator iron, but took the plunge as this had good reviews and was reasonably priced. Initial thoughts excellent. The iron is very light, and the generator produces a lot of steam even on the lowest steam setting. There is a delay in the steam ‘arriving’, and it is awkward to have to keep pressing on the steam button while ironing. The button is in the undersurface of the handle and as soon as you release the pressure the steam stops. I managed to power through many loads of ironing, especially sheets and duvet covers without needing to fill the tank, so impressed. However, this is only the third week of use and now whenever I ‘press’ for steam the iron splutters and sprays water over my clothes as soon as the steam comes in. Doesn’t seem to be a one off as happened again this week, so disappointing. It is continues I will be sending back.

Poor function
Poor. Feels like a travel iron! Although it appears to produce enough steam, the iron is very light weight and 'drags' on the fabric. Incapable of getting creases out of linen. Had far better irons.
