Quality Tool!
Used this to stretch cable for a customer and it worked great! I see a lot of work in the future for this gripper. Can't beat the price either, I've paid twice as much for wire grips in the past.

Won't grip 5/16" cable
What looks like a high-quality, economical, puller unfortunately just doesn't work, at least for the 5/16" zip line I was trying to tighten. It grips the cable but with tension the cable just slips through the puller. Maybe it would work for smaller diameter cable but not 5/16. Too bad, it was a great price and a well-made tool otherwise.

Works better with larger gauge wire
Pretty sweet tool...used it with a come-along to string up some cable in out back yard. The grab would not hold onto wire that wasn't sheathed...bare wire just slipped right through.

Better described as cable “SLIPS”
Replaced the guy wire on my power pole today. Bought these just for the job to make this a one person job. Every time I got about 100# of pull the grips would slip on the cable. The only way I could get them to not slip on the cable was to add tension on the jaws with vise grips. These are garbage.
