Very Good
This book was a very complicated story but well worth reading. I have enjoyed all of the Josie Baylor Bates novels!

Obsessed with this series!
I don't know how she does it, but she not only matches the brilliance in the previous novel, but surpasses it. This was a well thought out story complete with all of the everyday emotions of life's ups and downs. Its right on par with the unspoken perks of the ugly world of politics, yet shows you even they have unspeakable family struggles. Its very well written and really enjoy how we get to see the character growth of the original characters.

quick fun read
A quick light hearted read. The main character is a down to earth person. I like that she has a foster child.

Another win for Rebecca Forster
This book in the Witness series was very good. There are lots of twists and turns, and the denouement is a fast-paced whirlwind. The only quibbles I have are the constant uncertainty of the relationship between Josie and Archer, and Josie's ongoing self doubt. But, perhaps some lives mirror these characters, so it makes them more real and believable. On to book 3!

"A good defence is their right" ... "No... it is their privilege"
Josie Baylor-Bates is back in the third instalment of The Witness Series with an unusual case. She is hired by an ex-lover's sister — a sister that she thought had died in the same accident that killed her parents...Grace McCreary has been arrested for her sister-in-law's murder. Grace insists that she tried to stop Michelle from taking her own life, but police are convinced that is not the case — they believe Grace intentionally pushed Michelle over the balcony railing...Grace's arrest puts her brother, Senatorial candidate Matthew McCreary, in the spotlight — for all the wrong reasons — and he is not happy about it. He is even less happy that his sister chose Josie to represent her...I like the way Ms. Forster chose to open the book. I was drawn into the story immediately and I could not wait to see what happened next. There were plenty of unexpected twists and turns to hold my interest and keep me turning the pages. I changed my mind a few times about who did what — and why — but I was blown away when the BIG secret was revealed...

Josie, the hero!
This book kept me wondering who was the crazy person. I was pleased to find out how it ended and the fine women survived to the end.

Josie Bates
I really enjoyed the first three books and will no doubt continue to read the rest. For me the fact thatosie and Archer are always second guessing their relationship is irritating. Josie comes across as a strong woman as well. And yet at times seems so unsure of herself. Nevertheless I am still purchasing and enjoying. Thank you

A formula that works
‘Privileged Witness’ is Rebecca Forster’s third book in the Josie Bates legal thriller ‘Witness’ series. This book sees Josie attempting to defend Grace McCreary the the sister of an ex-lover Matthew McCreary, who is also a Republican Senatorial candidate. Grace is accused of killing Michelle, Matthew McCreary’s wife by pushing her off a balcony: while she maintains that Michelle had committed suicide. Defending the sister of an ex-lover, stirs up all sorts of feelings within her, which at times clouds her judgment regarding the case. The case also threatens to derail Matthew McCreary’s election campaign. The ‘Witness’ series sticks to a very well tried and tested formula, which in this case is a positive, because it is a formula that works very well. Although the formula is predictable, the story in my view is easy to read, fast paced with many twists and turns that keep you guessing to the end. So far for me, The ‘Witness’ series has been a guaranteed enjoyable read.

Another excellent book
Another great read. Rebecca Forster just gets better with each book. A thrilling read that I could not put down. The storyline is so enthralling each page draws you in deeper and deeper, so much so that you become wrapped up in the characters, you cold almost believe that you are an observer just outside of what's going on and makes you feel everything they are going through. Keep up the good work Rebecca.

slower than the others but highly readable
just a little bit too much on the 'I need to tell you about this' style of writing in this book but there were enough twists and turns to keep me happy. Best crime writer of the bunch I am reading at the moment.

Another good book.
This book was not as good as the others I've read in this series. But still way ahead of many other thriller writers so I am just about to buy Expert Witness. Rebecca Forster' s writing flows, and she moves her characters around in their space cleverly. She uses some lines that are so brilliant yet subtle and I 're read them wondering how long she spent working on that sentence or whether she is such a talented writer that she finds it easy. Well worth reading.
