A to Z of Sewing: The Ultimate Guide for Beginning to Advanced Sewing

for me, this was a waste of money. had expected more...like what the title of the book says. Gave it away to goodwill.

I bought this for my daughter to use. She sews, but not extensively. I sew a lot, but I'm not a very good teacher so, I wanted something that she could learn from. She says it has some really good information in it for her to use. Lots of information. I have over 40 years sewing experience, but will use this as a refresher for certain stitches and such that I don't use very often. I haven't looked through it thoroughly yet. I've been in the process of moving. Not even sure where all my other books are right now..... If you are looking for a well explained and easy to understand sewing tutorial then buy this book. There are too many books out there that claim to be for beginners, but are poorly written. It's also a decent price, especially for what you get.

I love to sew and have a huge sewing room and sewing library. I purchased this book because it was advertised as being for all types of seamstresses, from beginners to advanced. This book is really just for beginners. I would suggest the description be revised as I would not have bought it had I known it really did not match my needs.

Basic information for the beginning sewing such as types of feet for your machine.a chart of which needle to use a chart of care symbols for different fabrics, sections on various things such as notions and measurements. Then there are how-to sections beginning with appliqué and ending with zippers with all types of things in between, such as casings, facings, and linings. This is good for somebody has no idea about sewing give them some details about machine, Thread, etc...

I ordered this book to give me some guidance as I get back into recreational sewing. It is great. It covers a wide variety of topics including the basics of the machine, sewing supplies, fabrics, threads, how to alter patterns, how to add embellishments and many more. The book provides clear instructions and colored pictures of sewing techniques. I am very pleased with the book and highly recommend it for anyone's sewing library.

This book has find really helped me learn alot. I must say that the only bad thing would be the lay out...I was hoping for better pictures with much more detail, but all in all a good buy for anyone wanting to learn how to sew properly.

This is the best sewing book I've ever had. I love making clothing for my grand daughters, and this book offers a fantastic chapter(s) on garment construction. I'm also a quilter, and basic sewing techniques are also presented in a clear and concise manner that are easy enough for anyone new to sewing.

This book is perfect, it’s helping me to teach someone else to sew. Book was in perfect condition.

Although I have been sewing for many years I have never come across such a comprehensive reference manual. It covers everything, as it says, from Beginners to Advanced Sewing.All is clearly laid out and well indexed.I could have saved myself a lot of money over the years seeking the perfect 'how to' book for sewing. Now, I've found it!

I love the way this book opens out flat to use. It's well produced - nice to handle. The index works well and the information is clear. A lot of it is very basic but gives good reminders about things you haven't done for a long while.

This book is just as it says really good for beginner and advanced. I have been sewing for years but struggled with more of the advanced techniques. This book has easy and straight forward steps that make sewing easy.

Good book for a beginner. It replaced 3 of my other books. I would have liked more info on advanced sewing techniques.
