Works great for both
I bought this set for kitchen and for car cleaning & dryer. Works great for both! They also wash/dry very well. I've had no issues with shrinking or color fastness. Great quality for the cost.Love finding affordable bulk textiles... I'm a stickler to having everything match and this helps in case I misplace one or need to throw one out after overusing it. Will purchase again if replacements are needed.

They must be new and improved
I read some comments saying that after they were washed they would get all out of shape. I did not find this to happen at all. I washed them in hot water, dried them on hot and took them out, and they retained their perfect rectangular shape. The first wash did not make them as absorbent as I wanted them to be, so I had to wash them again. Now they seem a little more absorbent. They are very good at cleaning glass table tops...Leaving them totally lint free. I like the way they look hanging on my stainless steel stove.

Nice cloth but asymmetrical
I’m trying to cut back on paper products, so I thought that these would be a good everyday dinner napkin. The napkins arrived folded nicely and tucked into a plastic sleeve. They’re made from a well woven cotton cloth; however on several napkins, one edge is asymmetrical. The asymmetry is especially noticeable when folded (as pictured). As an everyday dinner napkin, these serve their purpose; but, I’d probably get more expensive cloth napkinsUpdate: The asymmetry gets worse the more you wash these! See the updated photo. I imagine this is because the manufacturers didn’t preshrunk the fabric before cutting and hemming the napkins

Not absorbent
First of all, these are listed as "extra absorbent," so this was my first test with these towels. I washed a glass, then tried to dry it. I had to keep folding the towel over to new areas to fully dry the glass, otherwise water just got smeared around and *not* absorbed. Second test was about 1/4 cup of water spilled onto the counter. Again, the towel mostly just smeared the water around until I kept folding over the towel to new, dry areas. I finally got the spill up, but the towel was almost completely wet at that point. These are *not* "extra absorbent." I'd say it's a reach of the imagination to even call them "absorbent" at all.Okay, so why 3 stars if the towel doesn't perform it's prime function well? Because these "towels" can be used for other jobs, and I purchased them for a variety of tasks such as to act as pot holder, to cover rising bread, to line bowls, to wipe off my cutting board (which won't be as wet as a counter spill or freshly washed glass), as an espresso maker towel, and maybe as napkins. While I haven't tested any of those functions yet, it's clear they will perform adequately without verification (except maybe the pot holder function...that will need a test). My only other issue was upon opening the package, there were several loose threads, which calls into question longevity, but for the affordable price of this large pack of towels ($17.99 at time of purchase, so a mere $1.28 per towel), I figure I'll get plenty of use out of them.If you're looking for a cheap, multi-function kitchen towel, these will serve you well. If you are looking primarily for a dish-drying towel, I suggest you look elsewhere.

My favorite tea towel ever
I have been looking for these towels!! I was using a generic brand before I got these and I would have to go over all of my glassware a second time. Such a waste of time. With these I never have to worry about lint residue, which makes my cleanup so much easier and efficient. More bang for your buck! I highly recommend these kitchen towels.

Should Not Be Sold!!!
The Value Basics Herringbone Stripe Kitchen Towel Set, had such a horrific/chemical smell to them when i received them, that i seriously considered calling the fire departments hazmat unit!!! Because of the lost cost involved, i did not return them, but immediately threw them out. At the very least they must need multiple washes before use and what about the washing machine afterwards? Most definitely not recommended!!!

Great for wrapping baked bread
I bought these because I’m on a cast iron bread baking, roll... and like to gift the loafs to friends, family, and neighbors. These are super cute, and perfect for my need. I washed them immediately when i got them and they were great out of the dryer, some loose strings but that’s ok with me for my purpose. I would recommend.
