Great Heater
This is a fast efficient heater. It’s easy to operate. It heats our garage up fast, which will be nice in our very cold Montana winters. I do wish it had a multi speed fan.

The heater works great, and moves a lot of air
This review is for the King Electric - KB-2410-1-B2-ECO, 42 amps, 240 volts, 10,000 Watts, 34,100 BTU garage heater.I first had a professional electrician install a NEMA 10-50R 50A-125-250V electrical plug in the garage. The heater has a single bolt thread at the top, to hang from the ceiling. The heater comes with a bracket to install it on the ceiling or on a wall.I also purchased a Certified Appliance 90-1088 3-Wire Range Cord, 10-Foot, 50A from Amazon.com.I wired the heater red wire to X (on the plug), black wire to Y (on the plug), and I grounded the heater case to W (on the plug using a green wire). The heater works great, and moves a lot of air. It is a little noisy, but not unbearable. It gets the garage quite comfortable. My garage is about 630 square feet, and this heater can heat up to 750 square feet, so it's actually more than I need.I figure it won't have to work as hard in a smaller space. When you set the temperature you want, the heater will retain that setting the next time you turn it on.The remote control is very handy. You also have the option to just use the fan, and not the heat at the same time, which would be good in the summer. It takes about 45 minutes to heat up the garage from a dead cold.I really like this heater.

Stopped working after 4 years
Bought this unit in 2018, went to turn it on this year and unit will not turn on. For the expensive price, I would expect it to last longer than 4 years. Have put in calls and emails to King-electric and awaiting a response.

You'll be happy with this heater if...
I have mounted this king unit in my garage/shop here in Maine. I chose the wall mount because it was easier to hang, and it was no problem for me alone to lift the unit up to the hanger standing on a step ladder. The measurement of my garage is17 X 27 with a 10 foot ceiling. It has 2 very large windows, an insulated access door, an insulated double garage door, and oh ya, a large dog door. Let me say I like it warm, and on a 20 degree day this unit does achieve a temperature of 76 degrees easily. I have not pushed it any higher. Note that my garage is heavily insulated on walls and ceiling. Today, 12/19/19 it is 15 degrees here in Maine and it was colder overnight. I keep the heater set at its lowest temperature of 45 degrees over night ( I wish it would go lower) and it was 47 degrees in there when I walked in this morning about 7.So at that point I crank it up to about 75 degrees and go back to the house for coffee. With this cold it will take about an hour to get to 75, but it's certainly a suitable working space as the temp goes up.All in all I'm very satisfied with this unit. Of course everything has some negatives, and I only have a few. The first is the remote control. You cannot hold the up or down button where it would get you where you want to go faster, like your tv volume. you have to click for every degree, up or down. (Hey, this is the 21st century!).Second is the constant clicking of the unit that takes some getting use to. I assume it clicks when it's going back and forth between phases but it's pretty continuous. Lastly, I'm not an electrician, and I had to call King's service line to clarify the wiring instructions. That is because the diagram on the inside panel of the unit gives one wiring requirement while the King website wiring diagram says another for this size unit. As it turns out the website was correct and the unit does require an 8/2 wire with a 40 amp 220 breaker. If I had one wish, since my garage is unattached from my house, it would be that the unit had a built-in clock/timer where 7 days a week could be programmed with the remote to go on and off. It would save me an hour of heat-up time in the morning and a back and forth trip in the cold. Also, sometimes I leave and forget to turn it down, so it would help my electric bill also. Again, it's the 21st century! My advice is, measure your space carfully considering insulation, windows and doors, and your outside temperatures. Then go for one size larger, it will run less often and warm up quicker.

Just What I Needed
This heater heats my 3-car garage quickly (30 minutes) to the desired temp. Provides a perfect cold weather working environment for my cars. Instructions could be a bit more clear that the bottom drops out so you can access the internal wire connection box to make the connection. This was not obvious and it took us 20-30 minutes trying other ways to get into the internal connection box. Once in ESPZ. Required rerouting a 220v line, but that was not hard. Would have appreciated knowing the vent fins end were metal and had to be twisted to get into the position I wanted. Not a big issue for once you set the fins for your environment you never twist the metal again. Even so, would have preferred them to be on some type of rotating hinge as I experimented with different flow directions until I got it just right. Was worried I'd twist off a fin. Having said that, this is a super great product. Love it!

This unit is worth the money!
I bought the 10k watt version for a detached 30x40 garage. I have R15 insulation in all the walls and two insulated 9x8 garage doors. This unit is working fantastic so far. I’m in Virginia and the weather hasn’t gotten really cold yet, but so far so good. I’ve tested the temperature settings with a digital laser thermometer and it’s extremely accurate. The entire upstairs of the garage, with three dormers, is also insulated with R30 in the ceilings. So far with the downstairs set at 62 degrees the upstairs is maintaining 55 degrees.

Great heater
I use this in a fully insulated basement in a 400 sq ft. room that has a 4' opening into a separate 380 sq ft. room. It warms the rooms up nicely in 10 minutes or less. Not very noisy, ether. Only request would be to make one that is "smart" so I can turn it on via a phone app from upstairs before I go down. Happy with my purchase.

Work very well
