Read, implemented, effective
This book was a mandatory read when my company's beloved CEO of 30 years retired and a new CEO came on. I'm so glad they recommended this book because it helped me have the working relationships I want with the new team members and hierarchical structure and helped me have difficult conversation for a productive work place with those I supervise. I use the questions and tips provided and have confidence for cultivating a positive work environment because I'm armed with tools and language to get what I need to enjoy my job to the fullest. Also, it is an easy read with some great humor, fun analogies, and limited jargon.

If you are in management or want to advance you need this book
Great book. I am newer to management so knew I needed to give feedback but didn't know how to do it well. It's awesome because it gives you a script! Also, it gives you sample questions to ask supervisors and supervisees. I recommended the book to an employee whose tone has created problems with higher ups and seen a huge improvement. I love this book.

I definitely enjoyed the read! Very informative about effective communication at all levels at work. It is a 2 way street when building a communication relationship with employees and your boss. Recommend it to anyone having issues with communication with colleagues, employees and bosses.

Saying what I thought...to you
Ask anyone who knows me. I have never had any issue about airing whatever is on my mind to whatever audience exists. I got a copy of this book and of course my initial reaction was, "why do I need this?".I read it anyway and I have to say that Ms. Harley has put together a good guide to not just saying anything but the appropriate way to say it (and even when it is better to hold back). She demonstrates the different types of issues that one is likely to encounter (mostly) in work and in life and supports them with anecdotal evidence of how things went for the subjects and how things could have gone differently. She analyzes the situation and offers explanations on how each party can perceive the same situation differently and concludes with how to circumvent issues that often arise from lack of proper communication. Thus she teaches the reader how to say anything to anyone. If you work for someone, have someone work for you or ever leave the house then there is something useful in this book for you and I highly recommend it.

Witty and helpful
This book was very easy to read, full of great real life scenarios and so applicable that I will be able to walk into work Monday morning with a renewed sense of confidence in my ability to talk with co workers. If you've just taken on a managerial position or are looking for ways to talk candidly with co workers, I highly recommend this book!

Gostei
Gostei, mas achei que foi um pouco repetitivo. Tem exemplos de situações, e fala basicamente de feedback em ambiente de trabalho. Como já tenho muitos anos no meio corporativo, não acrescentou muito.

great tool for new manager or those that need a refresher
The author goes a long way aiming to explain the best way to handle conversations and relationships at work. This is a work relationship focus book. Not something that you can transfer 100% to your personal life. Good resources as part of the book. There is a new edition that is actually audible compatible. Don’t get this one if you are looking for it.

This book should be a must read for anyone, whether in business or not. How to express yourself, and talk about those taboo subjects without coming across as a horrible person, how to tell someone they smell...all covered with a great step by step to get you through any conversation. Sherri Harley writes in a way that makes it easy to understand, and a great overall read!
