GMG Replacement WiFi Control Board Daniel Boone WiFi Grill

Easy install and work great. The only issue was no instructions after the install to link to wifi

After receiving a Daniel Boone Choice CMG pellet grill for Christmas, I wanted the WiFi capability I read about. I found this replacement board for sale on Amazon, and it was much cheaper than the replacement "kit" that cost quite a bit more. Since the grill already comes with a meat probe and low pellet alarm, all that is needed to convert a new Daniel Boone to Wifi is this kit. I watched a You Tube video on swapping the board, and all it took to replace the board was removal of two 7mm nut screws, and disconnecting and then reconnecting three plugs on the board. After replacing the nuts, I set up the Wifi with the method thoroughly explained in the Owner's Manual, and it worked perfectly first time. The app is easy to navigate and setup is really pretty easy if you follow the step by step instructions. Definitely a great upgrade for this grill.

Would have been nice to include the location of the wifi password with the product. It would have been all round 5 stars with that detail included.

Set up is not immediately apparent but a quick search nets simple video results on set up. The app that accompanies the WiFi adapter is suspect at times and has trouble staying connected once the screen on your phone locks. The best part of the adapter is you can correct the temperature delta between indicated and actual with a third party calibrated thermometer at food level on the grates. Range is excellent and connects with my WiFi in the house with a lot of obstructions and great distance. I bought this to replace the non-WiFi controller my smoker came with, not as a direct replacement. Connects to the harness as designed.

I replaced a blown controller for my GMG Daniel Boone which was not previously wireless enabled. I did not buy anything else and this was a plug and play replacement which works perfectly once the wireless part is enabled. I am happy with this and it is nice to have the connectivity with the GMG App. Getting everything set up with the app was not too difficult, the most tedious part is getting the grill connected to the correct wireless channel.

Great product. I refit my Daniel Boone and can now watch the Seahawks and not miss a down while smoking or grilling!

The media could not be loaded.  Looks like it would work just fine if it came with the antenna it's supposed to. I've reached out to the company a few ways to try and get the antenna, but haven't heard back. I'd love to update this review if I hear back and get the antenna sent, so that I can install it.

My Daniel Boone model's electronics started acting up (shut itself off mid-cook once, made some out of place beeping noises during warm up, among others) but hadn't quite fully failed yet. Found this, swapped it out along with a new temp sensor, and it's as good as new.
