Rated Breaking Strength NOT ACCURATE
Purchased 200LB breaking strength. Tested and found only 75-90LB breaking strength. This is disappointing.

So many uses. Superior to so many other cordage choices.
This is the fourth or fifth hank of Kevlar cord I have bought from EMMAKITES. All different weights. I've been experimenting with it, testing it out. I bought this (300 pound test) to try as a structural ridgeline on my hammock & it's perfect. Less expensive than dyneema cord, it has very much the same properties. It can not be braided or spliced the way dyneema can, but it knots really strong & is extremely low stretch...like almost no stretch, It's almost fireproof, with a melting point of above 900 degrees F. You must knot the ends to prevent fraying because it can't be melted, but I don't mind. Perhaps someone smarter than me will figure a way to braid the ends or even splice it. In the meantime, I'll continue testing. Look for my full youtube review soon. Rude Dogg... now...get outside, it's bee-you-tiful day.

100# Kevlar ??? Strong???
Maybe Kevlar means something else when it comes to string, but this is NO better than strong sewing thread.Earthquake caused screen door to not latch properly. Tied this to the screen door handle and then just looped it around a hook, on the inside of the house door jam to keep the screen door from popping open.No rubbing or pressure anywhere on the string.Within three weeks the threads had come apart and there was only one "string" left. The others were "flying in the wind"..I wouldn't count on this inferior product for anything important. You will be let down when you need it most. If for a kite, plan on watching it fly away when the string breaks. The word....Kevlar, obviously does NOT equal strength or longevity. I'll buy regular, much less expensive cord/string.

I love the 1200lb as boot laces.
I bought the 1200lb 50ft versions to make boot laces out of. I have previously been using these Kevlar core wax coated boot laces and when they gave out I thought I would try something new. I was not sure at first sight since these are very flexible and soft and slippery. I suppose I might have a problem with them spontaneously un-tying, but I have had no issues. The 1200 is a good diameter for boot/shoe laces, and I like the soft un-waxed nature of them. It would also make a great emergency and backpacking cord at 1,200 pounds of strength.

Great product and highly recommended!
I'm pretty impressed with this cord. It is very strong and easy to use. I needed to replaced a small steel cable which broke because of too much abrasion. This cord seems like it will be a very good replacement for it. The only drawback is that you cannot "melt" the ends to prevent fraying of the braided cord, however, it is easily knotted to prevent that. It is a very flexible and pliable cord, not stiff or rigid at all. It's a 100-Ft. roll, so I will find many great uses for this cord. I keep it in my "Go Bag" for emergencies. Tip: When you cut this cord, use a quality pair of sharp scissors, knife, etc... it IS braided Kevlar and it is cut resistant, but a high quality pair or scissors should make it fairly easy to work with, just remember to "knot" the cut ends! I work in Emergency services and I would definitely recommend carrying a roll of this stuff, even a larger diameter. For the price, you can't beat it, and it's well worth having for the "just in case" situations! I am going to order a larger diameter for other uses.

Great for shoe laces
I wanted to use this cord to replace some hiking boot shoe laces. I just cut the cord to length and used some heat shrink tubing on the ends. They work perfectly. It will probably never matter, but it is fun knowing I have 1200lb breaking strength shoe laces. I have to have shoe laces anyway, they might as well be ridiculously strong. I may use part of the rest of the spool to re-string some wind chimes. It should work well for that.

Good for knots and laces
This rope is awesome. It grips knots well. And knots can be tied and untied with equal ease. Im replacing many of my carabiners with this rope, as it is both lighter and quieter. I also seperated it into 24 foot hanks wich gave me a nice pile of fat pencil sized hanks, so easy to stash in various places and always handy for repairs. This kevlar with core rope also works fine as shoelaces (photo included) and in that capacity, they stay much cleaner than ordinary shoelaces because they wont grab and cling to every pricker or dirt patch you walk through.

This stuff is great!!!
This stuff is great!!!!!I needed a strong, smaller diameter string, that would not stretch or give. Nylon gnerally works well for a wtrong smaller diameter string, but in this case I could not have the give. I needed it to pull without stretching. This totally did it. So thankful to find it and at a far price. Highly recommend to anyone looking for those same qualities.

It's like black string, but more
I'm not sure how this string ("Utility Cord") could be used for 'tactical' or 'survival' purposes, but it's certainly strong. I haven't tested the absolute limits but it seems like I could probably use a single length to escape from an upstairs window without a problem (does that count as 'survival'?).As a kite string, you could probably attach a 747 to it and prevent it flying away, so I really can't fault it. Great quality, useful reel, and black so it doesn't look like standard Kevlar. I'm just not sure (yet) how it will stand up to moisture, as woven Kevlar can break down under certain circumstances. However, it does seem to be coated so I'm reasonably optimistic that it'll survive for a while.

A wonderful product.
A little difficulty in cutting as expected. No fraying. Excellent strength. Used correctly. A wonder product.

Excellent, strong string in stealth black
Excellent, strong string in stealth black. The only problem I had was finding the start of the roll. It took 4 of us picking it up every now and then, then over an hour pulling and plucking at it. It had been hidden under itself very tightly under a few rolls of the string!
