Perfect fit
This case fit my Epiphone Thunderbird ‘64 perfectly. I was concerned as it has an enormous headstock, but it fit like a glove. It’s hefty, but sturdy and well made. Good value.

EXACTLY what the Dr. Ordered!!! and Cat approved!!!
you can TRY and fake a case for this bass guitar but you will be sending back a lot of gig bags waiting to find a case for the thunderbird... after 2 long weeks looking for something affordable, i discovered this Epiphone brand case [what i needed] on sale... i had some amazon creds so i got it. free shipping BTW. best decision i made case-wise for an expensive piece of equipment AND it was MADE for it!! just increased the value of my axe quite a bit having an original MADE WITH WOOD bass case. I am stoked!!! the case is formed to the body shape and is held in PLACE by the body shape area and the neck gently rests on storage area and the head floats... pure perfection. OH OH OH... and it is cat approved!!! Freya kitty loves the soft case and it's 'new case smell' lol.

A pleasant surprise
The guitar is great and this case was a pleasant surprise. The guitar fits perfectly inside thick soft silver/grey interior. Big storage area inside for a wide strap and other accessories. The case is not a perfect rectangle shape as pictured. It's wider on one end and narrows at the other end. The surface feels almost rubbery compared to my other cases that all seem to be made of similar materials. This one is a bit different in a good way. Reading the other reviews I wasn't expecting much but I really like this case. The only issue I had was that I assumed the guitar would ship in the case if bought together but I had never bought a guitar off Amazon before. I was glad to see everything was packaged well and arrived in perfect condition. As for the playability of the guitar that fits in this case... It's amazing and I'm having a hard time putting it down. Highly recommended!

A RUGGED SOLUTION TO THE HIGHWAY BUMPS...
I bought this case for my wife's T-bird bass as an afterthought; I hadn't considered that when I'd bought her that bass she'd love it so much and want to take it with us on road trips, etc. And so far, so good. Something so big and fragile needs really good protection, and this case does its job well. (We get very attached to our axes, and don't like to worry!)

It does the job
Guitars and basses with irregular shapes can be a pain in the rear to find cases for. The Gibson/Epiphone Thunderbird is one of those. The typical generic bass case has a rectangular body cavity that may or may not work well for the T-bird, and that uncertainty is multiplied when buying online and unable to personally fit it or at least measure it. Having recently purchased a T-bird, and being unsatisfied with the gig-bag it came with, I wanted a more solid case. It's an Epiphone T-bird, and this is an Epiphone T-bird case, so I bought it with as much piece of mind as possible for an online purchase. It does fit, and very nicely. My only reservations about the case are that it's a little flimsy (mainly due to the cheap/light hinges -- the latches and protective shell are fine) and it's made in China. Had they made the case with better hinges, I would have given it 5 stars. I don't plan on doing any Samsonite Gorilla imitations, but I don't get the feeling that it could hold up to the same abuse one of my other cases has taken over the last 32 years. However, it does fit perfectly, and provides far more protection and piece of mind than a gig bag. If you have a T-bird, and you don't want to spend the money for an ATA certified case, this one's for you.

An excellent sturdy and attractive hardcase to REALLY protect your Thunderbird bass. Excellent shaped padding gives you confidence that the bass will not move in the case and that it will be properly protected. There are three clasps to hold it securely closed (one locking, key provided inside case). There is also a pocket to hold straps, etc - though both of my Thunderbirds have their straps attached. Please note that the headstock end of the case tapers inwards and is narrower. it's not a true rectangular shape, as in the photo, which I was really surprised by. It may be either an updated case or just another model of case being sold. Not a deal breaker, though. Once you get it ad open it, if it really stinks of glue, like both of mine did, Just put it in another room with the window wide open. The smell will clear away.
