VAV 2 in 1 Mini Hair Iron 1 Inch Hair Curler and Straightener, Ceramic Curling Iron & Flat Iron Dual Voltage Small Travel Size for Short Hair

I bought this in March 2019. I have taken this to everywhere I travel. I can curl my hair or straighten it (even though I don't use the straightening one). It curls your hair so quickly. The temp is super hot, so be careful not to touch it.. my friend who borrowed mine got a huge burn mark on her forehead (curling bangs), not knowing how hot it was. Other than the chemical smell when first purchased and super hot temp, I've learned to use it the way I like it.. this is 90 percent satisfaction and I am still using it today!It is 2023 and it's still working fine! (Only con is when you unpack it, it does give a bad smell for a few weeks)

So, this is a VERY small curling iron, I mean it almost seems like a toy! So if saving space is your #1 priority (like if you're a back-pack traveler, this is quite the find, because it DOES work... it will curl or straighten your hair. Ingenious design to be able to switch it to a straightener. Another plus is that the surface is very smooth, so it leaves hair glossy. However, for me the fun stopped there. There is no way to adjust the temperature setting. It's plenty hot! But I don't want it that hot, so I had to compensate by unplugging it at intervals so it could cool down some. Beyond that, It's just so small that it's awkward to handle, and a few of my hairs did get caught and break in the iron twice, at the junction between the iron and the handle. You need to take smallish sections of hair for this iron to work best, since the barrel is so short. I would say the shorter and thinner your hair is, the better you may like this iron. Probably best if you need only a "touch up" or only need certain areas of your hair curled or straightened. I curled my whole head, and it took longer than usual. I wasn't super happy with the results, partly because I prefer a larger diameter barrel for looser waves rather than curls. I do know how to use a smaller diameter iron like this in a way that will give loose waves, but the results were kind of inconsistent, I think because the barrel is just so short. Seems like it would have been a great product if they'd had made it just a bit bigger. Sending it back.

This fit the bill when looking for a hair appliance that will work on a trip to Europe. Great that it automatically switches to the proper voltage. Only a plug adapter is needed. Also convenient that you can switch from straight iron to curling iron on the same appliance. It was a bit difficult to figure out how to switch, but is easy once I figured out the secret. I wish the barrel were a bit longer. Also, I found that it pulled out some hair while using. Overall, great for travel, but I won't use for everyday.

I have fine thin hair, never dyed or processed.CURLING IRON: My hair never has curled before. While using this I have found that it does curl my hair but will not hold the curl for more than 45 minutes.. I never had any curling iron actually curl my hair.STRAIGHTNER: I bout this product to straighten my hair on the go because how small and compact it is. This is an amazing straightener. Heats up fast and has long lasting results on my hair. Other straighteners I have used never heated up fast or was as portable as this.

I ordered this item to take on vacation. It broke on the third day of vacation and could not be repaired. Unfortunately, I ordered it several weeks before vacation and I can no longer return it. I hate wasting money on poor quality devices. It makes me question Amazon's review system. The positive reviews outweighed the negative ones so I decided to take a chance. DON'T.

ANOTHER UPDATE! I originally reviewed this in Sept 2019. Since then I’ve cut a few inches off my shoulder length hair and now the curling iron works great for me. It get hot quickly and give a Great curl. I’m loving it. Definitely works best for a shorter length. Couldn’t be happier with it. Definitely recommend!This is perfect size for traveling and actually gets quite hot. My problem is the barrel is SHORT!! I have rather thick hair which is above my shoulders and it takes forever to get any kind of curl. I tried several times to style and it just doesn’t work for me.UPDATE: This company reached out and wanted to make up for my disappointment. I greatly appreciate they took the time to contact me. Because I had tried to use the curling iron on several occasions, I didn’t feel right returning it so they sent me a salon quality hair dryer which is amazing. Would not hesitate at all to order from this company. Amazing customer service!!!

I use this both for straightening and for curls. It traveled with me on a 17-day trip to Europe. Don't put the cover on while it is hot.It heats up fast, cools down in 10 minutes, and the dual voltage means you can use just an adapter - you don't need a converter.Recommended! I also have a mini-travel flatiron, but I like this Much Better! I can use this in the gym bag for the USA.

I can't wait to review the product , I have attached my hair curled the same day when I got the product . My hair is silky and I always had complain about curler that my curls fed away fast but the cruls lasted longer than I ever had . It is super easy to use and has the dual system , can use as straightener and also as curler . I love the product . It has a decent color 👌 and it is portable to carry because of it's width .
