Viking Adventure

Never written a review but....
I can't believe I just spent $25 for a paperback book (needed for school) and it came wrinkled and creased! The entire book is warped all over. Thought I could flatten it between heavy books, no chance. As a homeschool mom, I've bought hundreds of books over the years. This was in the worst shape by far!!! Not as advertised.

excellent and fast service
This book arrived in excellent shape. Even better than I expected. It arrived quickly and there were no problems with the vendor.

Incomparable children's author
Everything by this author is excellent. Classic, educational, but not bogged down by convoluted boorish language. Also great themes for boys: this one has Vikings. The others include knights, pirates, and adventurers. In a market largely saturated by quality books for girls and inane books for boys, these are truly refreshing. Boys and girls of all ages will love them (I do)!

Well Written Coming of Age Story
"Viking Adventure" is a coming of age tale that follows thirteen year old Sigurd as he travels from his family farm to Wineland and back. Written at about third grade level, the story is well plotted and the prose is spare. Although written for young children, it is a book that parents will also enjoy. "Viking Adventure" is a wonderful example of a strong adventure tale boiled down to its core elements so that a young reader can enjoy it. Highly recommended.

great read for boys
My boy loved this book. It was a good read and he was very excited about the action. As someone said there is a death that could be shocking to young target readers but my boy, while finding it sad, did not get hung up on it.

Good read
Fun story to read to the kids during our unit on the Vikings. I wish there had been more detailed discriptions of Viking daly life, but we read it while looking at Eyewitness Books: Vikings, which has lots of pictures and a poster to hang on the wall. Kids liked it so that's a plus (ages 7,5,&3)

Great edition to homeschool curricula
My son read this book as part of our homeschool curricula. He read it very quickly and was excited about the content. He is in 5th grade but I think a 3rd or 4th grader could read it if they are good readers.
