100 Questions & Answers About Prostate Cancer

Although I had some medical background and found this book to be helpful in anticipating and answering our questions about prostate cancer and our options; my husband found much of the book to be "mumbo-jumbo". There was a lot of medical terminology without enough simple definitions or explanations in plain simple English. The author addressed the topic thoroughly, but without enough simple explanation for the common person with no prior medical background. If you have had no prior medical background I think the book would be most helpful, if you highlighted or marked the areas you needed clarification on and then took it with you on your appointment with the doctor to discuss your diagnosis and options.

Excellent source of information for ones starting out to educate themselves concerning this disease. I found it not to be slanted or biased in one direction or the other concerning possible treatments as I did with some of the other publications I have read recently. It is also very helpful for those that just recently were diagnosed with prostate cancer in having questions ready for their doctor on their next visit.

The books was written over 20 years ago, (1993), Many of the procedures have changed and treatment recommendations have also changed. It was still an informative book.

Almost too much information! But, it's a good read.

Helped me understand what was going on after my diagnosis

Extremely informative. Read in several seatings. It is too much to digest in 1 or 2 seatings. Allows you to come up with questions to ask your docter. Questions that I would never have thought of.

Very informative book. It was recommended to me by a urology surgeon at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. The book was very helpful in providing insight into life with and after prostate cancer.

Helped us through a difficult time when you just can't ask all the questions in an office visit.
