Smart Caregiver Motion Sensor with Remote Alarm

Recently, I purchased the motion sensor with remote alarm and was so pleased that I called the manufacturer to purchase additional motion sensors. This product works very well and super easy.If you are looking for a LOUD device to ensure the safety of your patients and family members, then this is a perfect combination to buy. The only thing I wish I could change is the motion detectors light. There is no way to dim or stop the motion detector's light. The light was unsettling to my family member as they knew their movement (out of bed) was being monitored.The reason I purchased this combination was to avoid another fall. My mother had a very hard time getting my uncle off the floor and had to call other family members to assist. My solution was to add a motion detector in the bedroom so we knew when/if my uncle was out of the bed. With all his medications, his coordination and strength is not what it once was and this motion detector has been a life saver, literally, ever since.Sincerely, a happy shopper.Michelle

Excellent customer service! We recently moved my mom is with us because she needs 24 hour care. She has Alzheimer’s and wanders the house in the middle of the night. I couldn’t get the sensor to connect with the monitor (even after troubleshooting it with the manufacturer) and they sent me a new one immediately.As far as the product itself, it is very basic. There are 3 volume choices and the lowest is really loud. I am still trying to figure out how to change the field of view for the sensor and wish there were other chime choices but for the price this is perfect.

The system works well and worth the money. However, you need to know the AC adapter may only work on one of the units. I spoke with the OEM and learned the alarm unit (433-EC) has two versions. The older version (and the one I received) uses a two-pin connector and the newer unit uses a single pin connector. The units were sold in plain boxes (not retail packaging) by Kerr Medical, which obviously has old stock to get rig of! The motion sensor worked fine with the single pin adapter.The support of Smart Caregiver (OEM) is excellent. They took the time to make sure they had all the information needed to answer my questions.

This is exactly what I wanted/needed.First, it does exactly what the description says it does-- and it does it well -- this is a quality product.What I find attractive is that the chime goes off immediatelywhen motion is detected and it stays on -- so, that is too late for anyone whowould disable the sensor. And of course, the chime is occurring metersaway -- so, they can't stop that either without travelling that distance.And since the chime can be set at a low volume, they may not evenbe able to hear it -- whereas you can. And both the sensor and the chime unitcan be powered by transformers instead of batteries.Obviously, I am using this as a home security device.

We were very concerned about my 91 year old MiL getting out of bed at night or after a nap, ignoring her walker, and falling. After consultation with staff at the board and care home where she lives, and some research, we ordered this. It solved the problem immediately. Crucially, if she does try to get out of bed someone can be there literally in seconds after the alarm goes off (the alarm is with the staff, not in her room). So we can keep her in the place where she is well cared for and feels at home rather than move her to a facility with less mobility. This has been a great solution for our family

This has proven to be an excellent tool for monitoring people with high fall risks. Mother has Alz. and needed monitoring at night, Motion Sensor works great. The only problem is the sensitivity of the device. It is difficult to set up so that the sensor does not go off with small movements, rolling over. Thus only 4 stars. I also have a Video Monitor that I can check to see if she is actually getting out of bed.

It functions perfectly as a method to keep a patient from wandering from their room. The alarm switch on the side of the alarm unit is a bit awkward to operate. It chimes in the up position and alarms in the down position. It needs to be in the middle to be in the off position. If that switch were easier to differentiate it would improve the ease of use.

what a life saver! mother-in-law living with us and has dementia and forgets to call for assistance. we were afraid she would injure herself trying to get around. put this sensor in place and we love it. sometimes it's a challenge to get there quick enough but it works like a charm. you can even turn the chime off and the red led lights still notify you that the sensor has been tripped. we bought the wall transformer for the unit but have not used it as the three "c" batteries that we started with have lasted so long.
