I've tried various genmaicha teas and this one's the best
It's actually harvested in Japan and has the official Japanese organics seal (a lot of green tea is harvested in China and I trust the regulatory agencies in Japan more). Flavor is great as well. Good balance of tea and rice.

Great Flavor
My coworker kept raving about a green tea he'd had at a restaurant years ago. He said there was some sort of popcorn in it. I had to solve the mystery for him and found that genmaicha was the tea though I believe the restaurant toasted their own rice for their signature tea. He was thrilled to have found it. I didn't like it initially until I realized I was steeping too hot which seemed to bring out a 'fishy' flavor. Once I lowered the temp down to about 165....so great! It's very tasty even without sweetener. I have been drinking it as an appetite suppressant which seems to work pretty well to make me feel a little fuller before meals.

Disappointing flavor
I’m a big fan of genmaicha, and this tea doesn’t live up to my expectations. The flavor is weak; I have to up the concentration to get the flavor I’m looking for. If you’re looking for a more subtle genmaicha, then this may be the product for you.

My time to relax tea
At first, I was not too fond of this tea because we are used to drinking Fukamushu-cha (the strong flavor kind) and Genmai-match tea for the last few years. At my second cup, I realized it reminded me of the time I grew up in Japan. This is what the tea supposed to taste. I still love my other green tea, but we can never get tired of drinking Zen no Ocha Genmaicha. My daughter and I have two cups a day; it's mild so even if I drink it right before I go to bed, it doesn't affect me at all. Zen no Ocha Genmaicha tea(禅のお茶)is our favorite now.

Nice flavor
I had to stop drinking coffee. In looking for alternates I saw that green tea with roasted rice reportedly has a similar flavor. So I tried this. It doesn’t taste like coffee at all. But the rice does give it a roasted essence and additional flavor. This green tea is definitely one of the better ones I have tasted. It is expensive for the amount you get. I am still searching for other teas, but I am happy with this purchase.

Amazing, smooth and savory
This is probably my favorite genmaicha. It is a flavorful tea, much more savory and satisfying in the realm of coffee rather than classic tea due to the roasted rice. I don’t taste any fishy flavor, just a nice toasted rice.

Tasty tea
First time trying loose gemmaicha, it's very tasty! The tea is fresher, more fragrant, and more toasty-tasting. I'm also very happy with it being organic. It'll be hard to go back to the tea bags.

Disappointed...
I am by no means a tea connoisseur, this is just my experience. The tea is very mild in flavor. I don’t get the flavor from the roasted rice I so much like from other Genmai teas I’ve had before. This is more like a mild green tea. I like that it’s organic but I’ll keep looking...
