HP LaserJet Pro P1102 Laser Printer with Start Up Toner

This HP LaserJet Pro M201DW printer is the first wireless printer I've used, and after I'd read reviews on various wireless printers saying how they were impossible or very difficult to set up to print wirelessly, I was somewhat nervous whilst waiting for this to arrive. I needn't have worried.The documentation that came with the printer showed little pictures of what was in the box, how to remove all the tape and packing on the printer, and how to attach the paper trays. Following the brief directions enclosed in the box, I chose to use the supplied USB cable for setting the printer up to recognise the Wi-Fi (using settings stored on the laptop), and it was soon connected to the router. Once done, the cable was no longer needed to get the laptops (one Windows 8.1 and one Windows 7) to talk and print to the printer. Pretty quick, pretty painless, and not a swear word uttered! One very silly thing I did do wrong, though, was not to load paper in the printer before setting it up - the test page disappeared into the ether when the paper was missing, so I had to re-do that bit of the set-up.Wherever I seem to have worked over many years, I always seem to have had an HP1102n printer to use, and I have never known any of them to go wrong - they've always been totally reliable and robust no matter how much use they have had. Hence, I chose this similar but better-featured model printer for home, in the hope that it proves to be as reliable and long-lasting as the "workhorses" I've used in the workplace.One bonus of this model is that it will automatically print double-sided, and will print an A5 booklet using the standard A4 sized paper - both features I often want but have never had on a home printer before, so I can now save paper, toner and storage space yet still have a hard copy of documents.Although it's only just arrived, so I haven't tried out many of its features yet, I love the fact that everything needed to get up and running was in the box (apart from paper to print on), that it was so easy to set up, and the print quality is every bit as good as I'd expected.

Good quality product. When you require to change the cartridge, be careful. I had to buy replacement product from original HP brand with the chip.

I thought I was buying a new one, until it broke after 9 months of light use. On asking about a replacement under 1 year guarantee I was advised it was a refurb with 3 months warranty.For the last 2 or 3 months there have been troubles with the paper feed and now it will not lift it into the machine. The price I paid would have been acceptable for a NEW printer, I would NEVER buy a second hand printer.

had an epsom sx 515w printer all right at the start,then kept missing linesso thought look around and try a laser printer only wanted a black and whiteprinter read the reviews on amazon and sent off for this one arrived v.quick.well packaged but no usb lead still used one off other printer, set up was very easyon windows 7, tried printing something, wow that was quick and not very loud2 seconds to print brilliant, paper feels warm excellent on a cold day345 mm wide x 260 mm deep including plug at back and 195 mm highbest bit was the price £ 66.20p the toner cartridges are pricy but also read the reviewon here about the lower priced toners and no problems so if you want a black and white laser printerthis is brilliant AAAAAAA+++++++++11 months on just replaced toner cartridge excellent value for money

Fantastic printer. Quiet, small footprint, prints fast and double sided by default. There are two sizes of cartridges (83A and 83X, 1500 and 2200 pages respectively). I don't find the economode very legible but the fast res 1200 is great and doesn't use too much toner.Installation is a doddle with Windows 7: ignore the CD, download the driver directly from HP's website, run the file. Then turn on your printer (without connecting it to the computer). If using a printer cable (provided with the machine, in fact, but beware because it's quite short), plug the printer into a USB socket on your computer. The driver will be installed automatically. Go to 'control panel', 'printers and devices' and you'll see the printer. You can right click from there.For wireless printing: click the right arrow on the little screen on the printer until you see 'Network services', then OK. Then the right arrow until you see 'wireless on/off'. Click OK, then 'on', then OK. Then click the right arrow to 'protected WPS', click OK, then 'pushbutton', then OK. the wifi sign will flash blue. Connect to your router from your browser and press the virtual WPS button (or go to your router and press the physical WPS button). Go back to the printer and press OK to accept the connection (it will flash: connection ready). that's it. The wifi sign is now solid blue. Print out a configuration page (press the right arrow until you have 'reports', then OK, then 'configuration page', then OK. You'll have the IP address there. Enter that in your browser and you'll be connected directly to your printer if you want to change settings etc.To enable other wireless devices to use the printer, go to 'control panel'/printers and devices/add a printer/Wireless printer. Select your new printer from the list and click next. All the rest will be done automatically.

Reasonably priced and very easy to set up. However, the pages print with a slight curve, as though the printer is misshaping the page as it goes through the feed. Not sure if I received a faulty model, but a bit annoying.
