Easy way to save 100-150$ compared to the deale. I performed it on my wife's 09 GTI about 10k miles ago and it's still running strong with 133k miles.I used the 'top fill' method, where you remove the air filter, battery and battery tray and use a funnel (a couple bucks at AutoZone, don't buy the 30$ extoil one) to fill it at the opening where you remove the DSG filter. There are lots of videos to be found on youtube that show you how it's done, I was wary of this method too but it does really work!

If you're doing your 40k or 80k service, you only need 4.5L of fluid. Which makes 1 and a half bottles useless. You should keep them, because the transmission holds 6.4L of fluid altogether, So in case you ever Empty out your transmission(which is probably impossible) on 120k service, for example, you'll have enough to fill it up.This kit is great, everything you need for a competitive price.

This service kit contains everything you need to do a DSG fluid change on a VW or Audi vehicle. I used it on my 2012 VW JSW and had no issues at all. All the components (fluid, filter, o-ring and drain plug washer) are all genuine VW parts. You can youtube how to do the fluid change yourself and it's a fairly straightforward and easy procedure. I did not use the VW tool to refill my transmission, I used a funnel with a valve and hose that's available from Amazon, Walmart or most auto stores for under five dollars. Took me about an hour to change the fluid and it was my first time. I highly recommend this kit for your 40,000 mile service.

I have purchased directly from the dealer before for this service kit and this kit is identical, minus the dealer markup. Kit included all items necessary to perform the DSG fluid change and even comes with a new drain plug crush washer.

Decent price on the oil kit and a lot cheaper than paying to have the oil changed for you. You will need a few specialized tools to do it. Be sure to watch a few videos on YouTube to make sure you understand the process before attempting. Not that complicated. If you are careful, you will be fine.

Great kit with more than needed to change one's DSG oil in a 2012 VW TDI wagon. I say "more", because one is provided (and charged) with a sixth liter of oil that is never needed. Why not just offer the required five liters and discount the kit? I suspect that at 80K miles, I'll be forced to buy six more liters and so on. The bright side appears to be the change at the 200K-mile mark, when all those extra liters now sitting in my garage will preclude buying any oil at all.The only other comment worth mentioning was the fill time required. I was led to believe that it took hours to fill the DSG, because the oil flowed rather slowly into the case. After warming the oil, I doubt that it took less than five minutes/liter to fill the transmission. Also, the suggested funnel with long hose fit the fill opening perfectly, so there was no spilled oil or mess.
