Takes a fun 3D printer kit from frustrating, to productive and FUN
This is an amazing product that is as necessary for the Anet A8 as I can state. This printer is a great deal by itself, and very fun to assemble and get working. However, the factory-provided extruder, hot end, and stepper, are low-quality, and you will quickly become frustrated by them after just a few prints. Enter the Titan Aero, which makes the Anet printer a good quality printer with its great print area, that interoperates very well with Simplify3D. I highly recommend the Marlin SkyNet3D firmware (loaded using the Arduino IDE), which is far more elegant and functional than the default firmware shipped with the factory mainboard. Make sure you follow the instructions on the E3D web site for the Titan Aero assembly and tuning - they are very important. The instructions are very well laid-out, and you will be printing in style quickly. The parts are high quality, they fit together well, and the product reflects excellent engineering and attention to detail. I highly recommend this kit even with its expense - you will be happy!

Had to book Amazon 3D printer setup service to MAYBE get this to work...I hope!
Because there are no Plug-n-Play methods for this, BE CAREFUL! There are no real directions as to HOW to install this on a printer, only on how to assemble it. Here's some highlights: First you must print a mount that will fit YOUR printer. (mega i3 in my case) Then you must splice the cartridge wires to the old connector. Solder skill necessary here. THEN you have to figure out HOW to bypass the drive belt connection method in order to attach the mount. (by printing a belt stop) Next one must figure out where to connect the drive motor. IT DOESN'T SAY TO WHERE! If you don't print the parts before you disassemble it, you are screwed.

POOR QA FOR AN EXTRUDER THIS PRICE
I have been an E3D fan for some time, but it seems that the quality is going down the tubes. My steel pinion gear came without a drilled and tapped hole to secure the pinion to the motor. The extruder is worthless without a functional pinion gear and this exact part cannot be located. Hopefully the vendor can help or I am going to have to spend another $40 on a replacement pinion from SDP-SI.

Nice extruder and hot end combo for my cr10-s5
I was having concerns with the bowden extruder on my S5, the long distance of the tube seemed to create extra resistance, I could see the tube flexing in and out during retraction. Didnt seem like that could be good for it.Install was managable. the supplied mount was not useful for creality, found a nice mount on thingiverse. I tried to use a molex microfit 3.0 connector, but the heater leads were too thick. I got the fans and thermister into it though, and used a xt60 plug for the heater connection.I had to set it to 800 steps in my settings.

Completely Changed my prints
I was having difficulty bringing my prints up over the top with quality and this did the job. I've done many other upgrades and printing in flexible material can be difficult to say the least. But this alleviated all of my problems which weren't really problems but still it improved an already stellar printer. I now have 3 Titans. One of my cr-10s , one on a prusa clone, and another on a core xy style printer. Love it and can't wait to see what else e3d comes out with. I'm a customer for life. Only thing I'm confused about it the genuine e3d titan came with gummy bears. this one from amazon did not but as far as i can tell it is genuine. Would buy again.

So much better printing experience
This system has been a dream. I used to have problems with nozzle clogs and retraction. The Tronxy X5s stock is a large printer with a long distance from the extruder motor to the hotend. My retraction distances are cut from 6mm down to 0.5 to 1mm. This invention is totally worth the money. Haven't clogged a nozzle while printing yet. Just remember to take the filament out while hot.

Flawed and never worked. Not new to 3d printing.
I thought e3d was suppose to be top of the line. Can't return because it sat in a drawer until 3 days ago. I could not get this to work correctly because the large gear is between 2 bearings that are not sufficient under the load of tightening the screws on to the stepper motor. The more you tighten, the more resistance you put on the large gear like a brake. I have been working on electronics and tiny machines for almost ten years, I know what is too tight and what something is suppose to be tightened to. Unless I was missing a special washer, this part was engineered with a major flaw which made it useless. At least I got a nice stepper motor out of it, I guess.

amazing.
amazing extruder no more skipping. know that you will need to find/make a good stl to work with the anet a8 several on Thingiverse but look at how low it mounts as right-hand size z-axis can only go down so far with anet a8 and original a8 extruder has a longer neck.
