A Mother's Love
Like a long summer afternoon in the deep shade of the back yard, listening to my grandmother tell stories. Dorothy Brinker's frank and heart-warming stories of a difficult childhood and the triumph of a mother's love are wonderful for all ages. What a legacy this work is.Alan E Baileyauthor "The Alexander Saga"

Life was not easy for them
This book gives a glimpse into the lives of two children who had been kidnapped by their father. They stay with family members and move from place to place as their father looks for work during the depression. Life was not easy for them, but they were survivors. It gives us a glimpse into depression life. I enjoyed this book.

Five Stars
I loved this story. For a child to go thru so much and not be negative at all, amazing.
