Stone of Tears: Sword of Truth, Book 2
R**S
This is my 3rd time reading the series.
I cried when I found out Terry Goodkind had passed a couple of years ago. He is absolutely my favorite author and I am an avid fantasy fan. The story line following Kalhan and Richard is rich, complex, compelling and the best ever character development. There are so many sub story lines that weave an intricate lace through out the series. Small seemingly incidental happenings are richly developed further within the series. While it is the classic GOOD vs. EVIL scenario, the plot is original, unique and extensive. I highly recommend it to any fantasy readers.PLEASE NOTE: Today I happened to look at the listing on Amazon and saw that reader(s) had reported errors and the publisher had been notified of them. I have found 3 or 4 very, very minor errors such as missing quotation marks (2) that do not distract from the story at all. Please do not let this negatively affect your decision to read and/or purchase this book. It is a wonderful, full of wonder, series and I hate to think that my reporting these minuscule errors will keep anyone from enjoying this remarkable book and series.

grammatical and spelling errors galore but still a great read
The errors in this kindle book are ridiculous. Its a shame that the great writing its partially ruined by terrible editting. I can't speak for the printed version but this ebook has so many errors, at points, its hard to read. One common example is using the word "that" instead of "than". This seems trivial but after a while, you have to study every instance of the word to figure out which he meant. As the book progresses the errors come more and more often. I just hate that I loved this book so much and every time I got some momentum while reading, I would be dragged to a halt and pulled from the world by these errors. Aside from GRRM's stuff, this is one of the more expensive ebooks I've bought. It would be nice, with the ton of money I'm sure they've made on this book, if they could find someone to properly edit this. That being said, I loved this book. It gets moving more slowly that wizard's first rule, but it is also more than double the size. Some of the stuff going on felt like it wasn't really needed but by the end, everything tied together nicely. At one point, I was convinced that there was no way this book would wrap up what was going on. It seemed to be dragging its feet but at about the 2/3 mark, this thing just takes off. As another reviewer said, the last 300 pages demand to be read. I thought after this book I might take a break and read some other stuff but I have got to know what happens to Richard, Zedd, Kahlan and the rest. All in all, this book is amazing. I couldn't give it 5 stars because of the constant annoyance from all the errors but there's no way I would recommend not reading this if you liked the first book.On a side note, another reviewer complains about a section of the book being moved to the end. I'm not sure this is an error. I believe it was intentional in its placement. The passage at the end doesn't take away from the story but in fact, gives you a "holy $#!+" moment when you realize what's being said. Again, I think this is intentional and even if it wasn't, I think the book is better read like this.

Needs a better editor, but excellent story.
There are a few sections of the book that are annoyingly redundant. As if the same concept or sentence is repeated 3-4 times, slightly differently, over a couple of pages or even paragraphs. By no means am I a grammar nazi, but that, in addition to the numerous typos, was distracting enough to take away from the experience at times. I imagine it was just lazy editing, which is unfortunate.Because this book is touching at the very least, and can change the way you look at life at best. Sure, it's a series about swords and magic, but I truly believe that it could have any other theme with the same sets of circumstances and have the same effect. There are some situations in the book that had me sitting back for the better part of an hour, mulling things over in my head or comparing them to my own life. I hear this takes a dark turn to self righteousness past book 5 or so, but I'll just have to see. If that's the case, I don't mind putting the series down and just enjoying what I've read up to this point; it's that good.If I had a complaint, it would be the sheer amount of rape content in this book. Not that it was overly disturbing or graphic, he made the point without making it unreadable. But then he did it again. And again. And again. To the point where I started feeling bad for something I wouldn't ever do or think of doing; made to feel like crap just because I'm a man. We get more than enough of that with today's society, I could have done without all of it in this book. Or at least some redeeming qualities of the good men in the book brought out, instead of it being so seemingly one sided (besides Richard, who it seems can do no wrong in any part of his life). He did an excellent job tying in to the first book, in my opinion. This one could basically just start off as the next chapter from the previous book's last, with no more explanation of the first story than absolutely necessary. Overall, an excellent follow-up if you've read the first one, and you should definitely pick it up!

wonderful book
It kind of dragged a bit in the middle but once you powered through that it’s hard to put down. 9/10

Terry Goodkind is my favorite Author
This series changed my life, possibly even saved it when I was just 13. I was a troubled kid and starting to get into all kinds of trouble, and I ended up checking out Wizard's First Rule to avoid detention, just the first book I grabbed... I was put in a situation where I ended up starting reading it and I never really stopped... I've read them all and my attitude changed, I tried harder and I survived a miserable childhood thanks to this Author who wrote the most magnificent story I've ever read.

very bad editing
Whoever edited this book did not do their job. The book would have been better if lost at least a third of the repetitive sentences and words. Poor language. Use of that instead of than thru-ought. Story still moved forward and hopefully they found a better editor.

Midland にいた Mother Confessor の Kahlan と wizard of the First Order である Zeddicus Zu'l Zolander (Zedd) と Westland の Richard の世界と死の世界である underworld の3つの世界が・・・さらに拡大していきます。Kahlan が全く知らない the Palace of the Prophet という所から 3 人の the Sisters of the Light がやってきたのです。 the Palace of the Prophet the Palace of the Prophet のsister 達は、まるで Robert Jordan の the Wheel of Time シリーズの Aes Sedai のような能力を持っているようです。

Sisters of the Light、Sisters of the Dark等が紹介される。

Terry does it again
Wonderful read. Story telling at its best. Was thoroughly engrossed by the surprises in the narrative. The naked battle plan was ingenious

A bit on the slow side
Did not keep my attention the way the first book did. It was a bit slow and long winded in some chapters.

In desperate need of a PROOFREADER
Loved the story - excellently written and compelling. However, enjoyment is marred by the constant grammatical and spelling mistakes. How on earth this was passed for publishing I don't know, - if there was a proofreader then they must have been asleep. Terrible shame to spoil a great book with sloppy editing.
