The boat works well and sounds well.
The media could not be loaded. Just like in Ponyo movie! My kids love it.

Just didn't work + Return request IGNORED
I know how to use a pop pop boat. I lit the candle, put it under the boiler and waited. It popped once or twice but nothing ever came of it before the black soot coming off the painted metal boat made me put it out. I tried the next day with the second provided candle. Same thing. It was clearly defective. So I applied for a refund. It was ignored by the manufacturer. Poor service. Avoid this seller.

The Product Came Visibly Used
I was excited to play with my kids and this little put put boat. When I opened the box, the boat actually had wear and tear on it and was very visibly used. The description said that it was a new product. Lies! The actual performance of the boiler is laughable at best. It is frustrating to use and you just have to continually tinker and mess with it which takes all the fun out of it.

Nice little tin boat as seen in Ponyo. And it really works!
The media could not be loaded. You MUST fill two tubes up with water first. Otherwise it won’t work . Love it! I ordered this after watching the ponyo movie. It’s a pretty close replica to the toy steamboat shown in the movie. As you can see from the video it does work. The trick is to position the candle as shown in my photo. I had it the other way and it didn’t last very . long. The toy is made out of Pressed tin, with lithographed color design. It’s fragile by design but should last a few years. And it’s a lot of fun. Instructions were poor but when I emailed the company- They sent back better instructions

Dont forget to put water in the tubes first
super thin tin and a terrible candle holder but it did work as it should. At least until the pop pop "motor" popped open and now it hardly works and the leak means it will drip onto the candle. I plan on making some modifications so i wont be returning it. fun while it lasted and will be fun to mess with

Did not work.
Unfortunately this boat did not work at all. After lots of tries we took it apart and discovered a hole in the body that stopped the steam from building and moving the boat.

Terrible product
We were so excited to try this little boat but the boat did not hold up to the candle, and ended up burning all the paint off and deforming the boat after a few minutes of use. DO NOT BUY.

Leak in tank over candle
Filled up the pipes, lit the candle and the boat started up. After about 10 seconds it stops, I would set it up over again and the same thing would happen. Finally realized the tank over the candle leaks and would allow the water to boil off after about 10-20 seconds.
