Dr. BBQ's "Barbecue All Year Long!" Cookbook

I borrowed this book from the public library, and picked up about 5 easy, awesome dishes within a week. After borrowing this thing, time after time; I realized that I wanted it in my house permanently. That's because it has tons of more good recipes that I can't wait to try this summer. I like how he breaks down recipes by the seasons of the year.I bought it used in good condition for less than $6, and feel great with this bargain. Get the book, then try the red cole slaw this summer. It kicks a--,well you know what I mean.

I gave bought this book as a gift for my son. He is just learning to barbecue and I thought this would give him more ideas for his grill. He LOVES the book and I am very pleased with the purchase. The book contains recipes all kinds of meats, fowl, and seafoods, as well as recipes for side dishes, salads and desserts. I highly recommend this book for any new barbecuer, or someone looking to expand their recipe/cooking skills.

This is the third copy that I have purchased of this book. My first one grew legs because the recipes are so yummy, so I had to replace it. I have now ordered a copy for my Dad who was asking for a book that had good recipes, and different rubs. I instantly thought of this book and ordered him a copy.

I love to BBQ and make a lot of my own sauces and rubs. I'm not sure if this book is just too basic for me, but I found it lackluster and boring. There is a dessert section that is REALLY basic and includes a recipe for chocolate chip cookies. Sorry...but I didn't buy this for desserts.Thankfully, I didn't pay full price or I would have been extremely disappointed. If you are looking for a BBQ cookbook that will change your barbecuing world, I suggest you move on.

Perfect item

I love to browse through different cookbooks. I have quite a collection, and usually go to the library to find new recipes to try before I decide to purchase the entire book. I normally look for 3 things in a cookbook, besides delicious recipes that will work for my family. This includes:1) Pictures of more than ¾ of the recipes (Color pictures are the best)2) A spiral binding, or at least on that easily lays flat3) New & innovative recipes that have ingredients I can easily find at a grocery storeFor this book, I was intrigued by the amount of different barbeque recipes that it contained, grouped by season so that you choose different recipes from winter, summer, spring, and fall. Like many people, I mainly use my barbeque during the warm summer months, but this book gave us a ton of new ideas for recipes that appeal all year long.The downside of the book was that it offered no photographs, and was not in a binding that laid flat. I liked the recipes, but thought that the lack of pictures of the finished products could hold some back from purchasing the book.Some of our favorites include: Sautéed White Mushrooms, Rack of Pork, Dr. BBQ Barbecued Barbecue Shrimp, Shamrock Potatoes, Fake Sugar Cupcakes, and Peachy Pork Steaks.
