immensely valuable
Unit is about as easy to install as possible, as it allows some variations in the instructions. Took me maybe 30 minutes. I didn't have any additional room in the panel for an unused double pole breaker. However the breakers here are Square D which are designed for using two wires if necessary. Having one of these provides peace of mind when you hear thunder approaching in the distance.

Thought I was sold a used and defective whole house surge protection device
Following a power outage that started July 1 and ended 17 hours later, I decided to buy a whole house surge protection device. I chose this product based on the max surge current rating of 50 kA (Amperes) and comments from other customers. I watched a few You Tube videos on this product. Since the circuit breaker panel in our house has 15 A and 40 A breakers, I bought a 15 A tandem breaker from Home Depot. After installation, the indicator light on the product did not light up. Because a lid of the box appeared opened and there was no tape to seal the cover, I believed I was sold a used and defective surge protection product. I then started a return process. In the mean time I reviewed the instructions from Schneider Electric webpage. Schneider suggests using a 15, 20 or max 30 Amperes DOUBLE POLE breaker. It turned out double pole breakers are recommended so that the unit can handle either 120 or 240 volts currents. I merely misunderstood the difference between a tandem (but single pole or single phase) breaker and a double pole breaker. After swapping out the 15 A tandem breaker for the 15 A double pole breaker, I was able to activate the unit. In order to place the new breaker near the panel ON-OFF switch where electricity first enters the house, I had to move a few breakers further down and use WAGO inline connectors to extend the black wires. I also make sure the black, green and white wires are no more than 6'' long and inserted to the nearest breakers and bus bars so that incoming surge current can be routed quickly to ground. I cancelled the return process. I do recommend this product.

Whole house surge protector
Excellent, I searched on you tube for installation videos. I was able to install it in 30 minutes. Easy peasy! If you are not comfortable with installation, get an electrician. Very high voltage in the box. But it is working well.
