Understanding Karmic Complexes: Evolutionary Astrology and Regression Therapy

Karmic complexes arrived a couple days ago and I am devouring it! What I like about it is the fact that each archetype is explored from the point of view of the various circumstances that can be associated with each archetype when they are involved in the evolutionary signatures of a chart. I find it very comprehensive and well thought out- the topics for each archetype are helping me emotionally integrate the astrological archetypes so much more as well as maturing my understanding of the soul itself, and how the process of evolution actually occurs from life to life.I feel this book is truly unique and the only of it's kind- so far. It offers a depth of philosophical insight into the nature of the soul and evolution- through ACTUAL EXPERIENCE. Walsh does a really good job at exploring the essence of the archetype as well as the various, real life ways in which the essence can manifest itself. What's cool is that the examples given span a long period of time and manifest in such varied conditions- so it really gives a broad and expansive perspective of a singular archetype.I recommend this book for any serious student of astrology and the soul, or anyone who practices any kind of counseling that addresses the deeper, spiritual roots behind everything. Very grateful for this book. I also feel that this book may be a pioneer in bridging two fields in a truly professional, well researched, well documented way. These two feilds are "Evolutionary astrology" (or astrology that operates from the level of soul) and regression therapy. This is a must read for any astrology student/astrologer who is also interested in past lives and reincarnation. Walsh presents case studies of hundreds of people who have been regressed and then shows how archetypes in their birth charts back up what they recall. Past live memories support the astrology and the astrology supports the past life memories. This book takes both astrology and past life regression to another level as it marries the two and focuses on healing and resolving present life traumas created in the distant past. Even if you don't understand the astrology involved, the case studies alone are fascinating.

This book is amazing. It was very intriguing to see the correlation between past lives and evolutionary astrology. If you are interested in either one, this is a must read. She does a great job of marrying the two in an easy to use format and also has a quick reference index in the back for use with chart interpretations. Completely in depth reviews of each sign and which planets correlate with specific past life traumas and signatures. Well done!

Definitely an excellent book, especially for Evolutionary Astrologers who are also interested in Past Life Regression. Patricia Walsh’s synthesis of Jeffrey Wolf Green’s Evolutionary Astrology and the late Oxford-trained therapist, regressionist and psychologist, Roger Woolger’s Deep Memory Process as a combined tool for past life regression is brilliant. Absolutely highly recommended for astrologers who wish to combine past life regression therapy with their own astrological counseling.

Some of this information was very new to me and I did send a email with some questions to the author and she was kind enough to respond and her response was very helpful for my situation. Recommended and very interesting.

After reading the other reviews of this book, I was highly disappointed when I finally got it. I felt the information was sketchy, and, while she provides endless case studies, she does not make a clear, smooth transition as to how to apply those case studies to your own, or someone else's, chart. While it was interesting to read the case studies, I was looking for information to help me in my own personal search and spiritual growth. Especially for the price of this book, I did not feel it was a value.

I found this book to be a potent and insightful dive into astrology looking at the natal chart through the lens of past life traumas. Patricia Walsh is a master in this field and this book is exquisitely written.

Big fan of Patricia Walsh work. Reading her material is easily understood.

The book is very comprehensive and easy to read. Patricia Walsh has brought the karmic connections in the chart that seem all so impossible to understand within reach!

Awesome book!!

Great book if you know how to do complex astrology charts. Not good for the average person but otherwise great if you are already advanced. No use to me

I have studied astrology for many years and have never come across a book that is as unreadable as this.The book is packed full of case studies usually from primitive or the middle ages. Every case study has the person in question die from horrific deaths such as raped and hanged, left to die chained up in a cave, beheaded, gang raped, frozed to death, starvation etc.This author seems to delight in only showing grisly and horrific case studies. Not one case study is a normal life with a pleasent death.The second criticism is that this is not book where you can look at your own chart and find your own karmic complexes. It is far too unreadable and only deals with the case studies, which none are pleasent reading due to the nature of their lives and deaths.I feel the author wants you to be shocked and go for your own therapy...paying through the nose for your own regression.She would probably be thrilled to discover you were killed in a huge Vat of sulfuric Acid!Disgusting
