📸 Capture the Contrast: Unleash your inner artist with the Tiffen 25 Filter!
The Tiffen 77mm 25 Filter (Red) is a medium red filter designed to enhance contrast in photography, particularly for black-and-white images. With a 77mm diameter, it fits most professional lenses and is perfect for creating dramatic skies and vibrant floral contrasts.

Yup, it's a red filter
Not much to say about this...it looks to be made well and screws into the camera lens with no issue.

Works with SFX 200 for B&w photography
Combine this filter with an IR sensitive film like SFX 200 and shoot scenes or subjects in direct sunlight for a unique look: skin glows, skies darken a bit, sunlit foliage brightens up slightly, my blue eyes turned eerily dark, lots of neat effects. It still lets through plenty of visible light, so the photos aren’t too alien or otherworldly, but still unique and contrasty. Meter about three stops over with a handheld meter. If you want the alien look of white foliage and dark skies you’ll need a more specialized IR filter than this.

Not for GoPro
The media could not be loaded. This filter is not suitable for filming underwater video with any of the GoPro video cameras. Regardless of depth, your videos will come out completely red. That said, the lens was of fantastic quality and fit my 55mm adapter perfectly. I did not have the swirling problem that other reviewers have commented on and I'm sure that if I had an application for film, this filter would work. I give it 4 stars for its quality and because the description was accurate, I just tried to use it for something outside its intended purpose.I have attached a snorkeling video of how this filter works when shooting in shallow water. If you have seen other videos of people using a red filter with a GoPro you will know that this video is way too red. Fortunately I did not use it on any of my other footage.

too heavily red shade cant really use them.
The filters are too red for shallow dives 20 ft- 60 ft. Not what I was looking for. Red filters seem hard to locate on line.

Amazing - but read review
When I first got this I noticed a bunch of swirl marks on it that I wasn't able to get off. I ended up sending it back for a replacement but the replacement had the same issue. What I did next made the whole difference to the poor reviews seen on this. I contacted Tiffen, they had me send it to them at which they sent me a new one without defect. The guy I talked to told me this happens when the lenses get too hot such as being stuck in a shipping container in very hot conditions. It is wrong for the guy to sell these defective items but at least if you get a bad one definitely contact Tiffen as they will help you.

solid quality, used it underwater on a goPro 11 dives over a 7 day period.
high quality red filter, bought it for underwater goPro photography. The underwater case I purchased came with a 52mm mount, had no issues with this filter, great pictures, used it underwater on a GoPro 4 Silver. 11 dives over a 7 day period. normal freshwater bath with the whole camera, no visual defect a month later. Not a guarantee that it will hold up to salt water for years but way better a filter than the goPro underwater kits offered around the same price.

Great filter.
It does exactly what is was designed to do. It seems very well made and with quality materials. I recommend it if you’re looking for a red filter.

Depends what you use it for
Perfect for a video but for pictures it does strip a lot of the quality out of them

Use photographic filters? Buy Tiffen
Filters can be an expensive purchase - I have always found Tiffen to be high quality at a very reasonable price. The perfect compromise. I have never found them to affect the optics of the camera's lens!

too small.
Lovely shade of red. However there are several problems with this filter. First of all it next to impossible to stack it properly as it is fractionally smaller than other 52mm filters. Also it being smaller than most other filters it constantly falls out and it's incredibly difficult to hold in. I stood on my after taking a photo and cracked it. Very frustrating as it costs more than the average hold in filter. Spend your money elsewhere or buy a screw in this product isn't worth the extra bucks.

Bad quality
It seems Tiffen has no quality control, the glass has two spots making the filter useless.I bought 3 different filter from this manufacturer and each one had a defect. On the filter case is written : Made in USA ????
