The Digitrax Big Book of DCC

The book entales everything that is needed to know about DCC and describes and explaines very well in an easy understandable language. A must have for newcommers into DCC and very good for those who have chosen Digitrax as operation system for the model railway layout.

What a very good in depth Book on DCC by Digitrax whose System I chose to use.

This is a really broad DCC manual with information from basics up to the very deep levels, including basics of computer interface, a topic not covered well elsewhere. More could have been written on the computerization of modelrailways, especially as Digitrax and LocoNet feature strongly in this area in the first place, but this is not to knock the book itself. It is a comprehensive and detailed practical guide to DCC. It doesn't spend a lot of time or space on showing you how to install decoders into different locos as many books on the subject do, but rather it focuses on the theory and practise of building and running a DCC layout. It is written for the general reader and explains any technical terms in a clear way understandable to most people whether technically educated or not. I recomment it thoroughly to anyone interested in starting or in further developing a DCC layout, regardless of which supplier's system you might have purchased!

Bought for my husband for his birthday. He's so happy with the book. He's glued to it. He likes to program his locos and this book gives so much information & detail.

Excellent, especially as I model US railroads in On30

It is okay for a basic operation and setup manual. I was a bit disappointed for age of book, it is dated back to 1999. Apparently this is a sort of on-demand reprint by Amazon, 2012 may be the date of printing but contents are most likely from last century.
