Dead in a day
I bought 3 bait boxes a year ago. One has been in my backyard and it's empty every month. The other two have just been sitting in my garage unopened. This week it's cold and I noticed a lot of rat droppings under my vehicle in last few days. I checked in the engine and I saw drippings, it's parked in the driveway and we live near an undeveloped land that is perfect for rats. I was scared I may end up with damaged wires and a car repair bill if I didn't get rid of the rat(s) fast. I put a bait box near my driveway, and another one in my front yard planter at 10am on Wednesday, by 2pm on Thursday there was a huge dead rat laying on my driveway, about 5 feet from my vehicle. I checked the bait boxes and some bait was eaten. Then Friday night I found another dead rat by my front door. The car is running fine. These bait boxes likely saved me hundreds in repairs, soooo worth it. Two dead rats in two days, I am a believer.

This is the only product that works and is safe!
I have used this product for many years in my attic but as the rats have started invading my kitchen and laundry room I ordered two more. Bromethalin is the only product that rats are still not immune to but is not safe for pets or children and must be handled with gloves so this TOMCAT closed trap is perfect. I have heard that rats are smart and will stop eating poison but I have seen it disappear every 24 hours so I have to conclude it is extremely irresistible. The other thing I love about this product is that it is a paralytic so the rats eat it and then hours later die outside escaping the same way they came in. So, no pulling off body parts on mouse traps and sticky traps or dead rats stinking up the house. The only problem? They sell the bromethalin but not the rat traps in stores.

Great product! 5 Stars A++ RECOMMENDED
Great product! RECOMMENDED!!!PRO:Easy to useKeeps the bait out of harms way as well as the weather.Kids and pets are excludedRodents feel safe in this snug hiding place to eat their fill.CON: none... This is a pro unit, commercial gradeCheck it once a week until there is no more bait being taken.Important Tip:Use :MOTOMCO Tomcat Mouse and Rat Bromethalin Bait Chunx, 4-Pound this is a good combo. Use now before the first snow so they do not find their way into your home.Keep checking and baiting for at least another month after activity slows down, until no bait is being taken. If activity resumes consider changing to a different bait. These critters can become resistant to the active ingredient given time. Also you can hear them at night calling to each other, it sounds like a squeaky chirp chirp. If you sit still enough you can hear them.Next door neighbors moved out and tossed everything in a heap behind the town house, and started a major infestation right before winter. This unit kept the bait in place long enough to eliminate the infestation with out harming pets. Safety First! This is the smart way to go5 Stars A++ RECOMMENDEDVOTE thumbs UP IF YOU FOUND THIS HELPFUL

Easy to use
I like this bait box. It is small enough to fit into tight corners, and has a couple of nice features. The main one I really like is the little plastic window on the top of it that lets you see how much bait is left. No need to constantly be opening the box itself to check on bait, just look at the window and there you have it. The other is that the bait itself is shaped more of less like a column with a hole drilled through the middle of it lengthwise. When you put it in the bait station, it just slides on a post as easy as can be. Couldn't be simpler or faster. And it comes with a generous 15 bait blocks. The door to open the compartment for placing the bait has a piece that you push, and then two other parts that you pinch together to lift the compartment out. It's not hard once you look at the picture on the box. It's for that reason that I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5. On the surface this bait box appears to be tamper resistant. However a really smart kid or a big dog who likes to chew could manage to get inside it. I play it safe and put it in inaccessible places to anything larger than a rat.

Great product great price
I haven't left a review in a little while and feel I had to share my experience here I bought this a week ago because I had been hearing rats in my attic so I bought this upon the reviews of others when it arrived I didn't have a pair of gloves so I carefully opened the package of bait and grabbed a couple with paper towels placed them in the holder put the bait outside then then about 5 6 hrs later I'm hearing what literally seems like screaming in my attic and a thump from somewhere...the next morning I look at the trap and part of the bait is eaten...next night hear same thing with the screaming and go back and look and part of the bait is gone but let me recommend this only put one in because bait 2 hasn't been touched which was the side closest to the entrance hole so not sure if design error or what but to continue on...the next night I'm taking my dog out and hear a noise and what do I see...a rat in my laundry room so I again grab a piece of bait but not in the trap I put it close by where i saw him...next morning I check on the bait to see if nibbled on and the whole block is absolutely gone with no sign of the rat...now that same night I heard another one and again hear what literally seems like a screaming sound which I assume is screaming of dying pain is what I'm hearing and haven't heard anything since and that was like say 4 or 5 so the past 3 nights I haven't heard anything in my attic so I think my problem has been resolved...I was reading articles that they will eat the bait and go somewhere and die and you are left with this horrific smell but as of yet I haven't experienced that

Becomes Difficult, Then Impossible, to Open
Worked well for the first three years, becoming increasingly difficult to open/refill with bait. Just threw it away as now totally impossible to open. The prying with narrow slotted screwdrivers while pressing plastic tabs became a frustrating, infuriating and now failing venture. The molded hard-plastic-like material doesn't do well in the elements.
