Outlander 100% Waterproof Hiking Backpack Lightweight Packable Travel Daypack

I’m drawn to give this a good review after enjoying it so much on a recent trip. We knew we were in for lots of being outdoors in the rain on a recent trip to Alaska. This pack was the perfect daypack, I was so glad to have it. It kept everything dry, was easy to open and close, loved the outer pockets, and a bonus was that the pouch you fold the backpack into for storage is like a little mini purse when you’re using it because it’s attached. My husband is a gear snob and he commented a few times on liking this one and it being well made. Some packs for outdoor activities have too many straps, buckles, stretchy strings - this one had just the right amount, functioned great. Highly recommend for quality, value, user friendliness.

Bought this for our Alaskan trip. Weather was mostly rainy. Everything inside stayed dry. Lightweight bag, good size: in the photo, I had stuffed in it: raincoat, puffer jacket, wallet, phone, passports, binoculars, baseball hat and gloves, with still more room to spare! The backpack tucks into it’s own little pouch, and I used that to toss change into. Awesome backpack!

compacts nicely so easy to pack as an accessory. Does NOT have any type of front clip holding the shoulder straps together, so tends to slide down/off if you are at all round-shouldered. Well worth its price if you are looking for something to use short-term or as an extra carry-on for the airplane after your trip when your suitcase is packed with presents!

As the reviews say, the outer 2 pockets are not waterproof, but the large one is waterproof. We hiked 6 hours in NZ in pouring rain. We were drenched, but everything inside this backpack was dry. It is very light to carry. I just ordered a 2nd one for my husband when we got home. BTW I don't know if people get paid to do reviews, but I did not - just my honest opinion. I originally bought the blue. I ordered my husband the gray. The photo of some like the gray look different than the blue, but they are identical. It's also nice to have the little attached pouch to keep it in when not in use.

It's not terrible but I wouldn't buy it or use it again. I purchased it for a short hike in the rain in the Scottish Highlands. Waterproofness worked fine, but the backpack doesn't have enough structure to make it wearable. The backpack is extremely thin (it's more of a bag) ... plus the straps are very flimsy. It wouldn't stay on my back and kept sliding down no matter how tight I adjusted the straps. It became a real pain to carry on a simple 2-hour hike. It's going in the garbage now.

I bought a few different water resistant backpacks for a trip to Niagara Falls. Out of all of them I figured I’d like this one the least but that was absolutely not the case!It is very roomy, I was able to carry an extra pair of sandals, a can of sunscreen and still put a small purse in there with some room to spare.I thought that the shoulder straps would be super uncomfortable because they aren’t padded. This was not the case. I used this bag almost all day every day for a week and it never caused me any discomfort. Most of the time I was barely aware it was on my back.

My husband and I each bought one for our two weeks in Iceland. On very rainy days we wore our rain ponchos over our regular gear but the backpack seemed to be waterproof on lighter rainy days. Some reviewers complained about the unpadded straps and not being able to get the pack back in its travel pouch. We didn’t have issues with either.
