Drilled deep holes through 4” (100mm) green oak where other bits failed - brilliant
Having tried a range of 150mm long 5mm supposedly specialist wood bits that had all simply snapped under the stress of drilling green oak, I decided to try these ... they are clearly slightly flexible so to help i’d drilled 5mm pilot holes with a proven short length Bosch professional wood bit - over 70 holes ... this bit then just ploughed through drilling a further circa 70mm of depth in the holes. It wasn’t easy - no knife through butter analogies - and the multi-purpose bit got hot enough to burn off the blue paint and the steel tempered and turned blue (so somewhere between 500 and 600 degrees Fahrenheit / 260 to 320 Celsius) but it just carried on. At the end, the tip still felt sharp to touch, but the exit holes were showing it was getting a bit blunt. This bit took an absolute pounding and left others way, way behind in terms of quality ... astonishingly brilliant!For those that have found this bit to fail and snap, I wonder if a pilot was drilled with shorter and therefore sturdier bits before using this ... By doing this I’m disproving the Bosch objective of one bit for all purposes, but this could well be one bit for deep holes!

Burnt out drilling 1 hole in masonry. The shorter ones seem to last longer for some strange reason.

It broke while trying to put the third hole on a brick wall.

Very little use, will go in the bin!
I have just about every other size of this bit and they are fantastic, however this one perhaps due to the length and width has about 2mm play at the tip when drilling, maybe I just got a wonky one!

Ormai compro solo queste bosch punta azzurra, aggrediscono bene il buco e hanno una buona durata, senza costare uno sproposito.

Nach der zweiten Bohrung "taumelt" der Bohrer...
...und das ist nicht akzeptabel für Bosch Professional. 100 Löchern in Beton sind kein Problem aber verbiegen sollte er sich so schnell nicht.
