Question 1

Would this take coconut oil build up from hair?

Accepted Answer

The short answer is yes. Not only will it remove oil buildup, it will also remove sebum that can become trapped in the mouth of the hair follicle. This versitile shampoo can prepare your scalp and hair for deep conditioning treatments. Be sure to use prior to any masque or hair strengthening treatment that you rinse off. We recommend it for post surgery shampoo as it will bind with anesthesia and medications that adhere to the hair and scalp via small blood vessels ( capilaries)

Question 2

Can it strip yellow residue from white hair?

Accepted Answer

Clairol makes a shampoo for people with silver hair ... it is called Shimmer Lights. I use it about once a month, between co-washes.
It works really well to remove the yellow tones.

Question 3

The title says “fragrance free”, but fragrance is listed in the ingredients on the back of the bottle. Which is correct?

Accepted Answer

Yeah, the seller either LIED or misstated the “fragrance free” part on the Amazon page. I just purchased this due to the erroneous information, since I have allergies. The ninth ingredient listed on the label is “Fragrance (PARFUM)”. While not unpleasant, I detected a definite spearmint smell.

Question 4

I have been having a reaction to some hair dyes was told to use a clarifying shampoo will this help me I am not ready to go completely gray Help?

Accepted Answer

If you have allergic reactions to hair color then you need to perform a patch test. Simply dab mixed or pre mixed hair color onto skin behind your ear, or nape of neck wait 48 hrs and see if allergic reaction appears like itching, redness or swelling. If your reactions are that you are not coloring hair well then let me suggest. 1, shampoo hair with clarifying shampoo 48 hours prior to hair color. Do not shampoo on the same day as color unless the color is a tempoary or semi permanent color. Use a color that is caluculated for grey. If mixing your own color make sure to choose a color that has the letter N on it.
