Great book, helps understand the film, the book is not a novel, but a collection of letters. Hard to get into to start as very different, but loved it once my head was prepared.

A good read, not quite like the film, but nonetheless very enjoyable

What a fabulous story and wonderful cast of characters. I feel I know them all now, and I also learned a bit of WW2 history that I was barely aware of before. It’s a joyous read, despite the background of war and occupation. It’s an unusual narrative style, but it flows beautifully through the letters to and from Juliette, the society and others.

This is a rather twee story of a London jounalist who forges a new life via her research into Guernsey during the German occupation of WWII. It is a perfectly sweet story with a rather predictable ending. Suitable for ladies’ book groups probably but rather saccharine.
