This is the most beautiful sounding chime that I have ever heard. It is a very relaxing, soothing sound. This is by far the most functionally designed wind chime of any that I have ever purchased. It may not be the most attractive, but it is designed very well in order to catch the slightest breeze. I like the fact that it only has one wooden part (wood rots over time). The bottom piece that catches the wind is made from very lightweight metal & it is large enough to effectively catch the slightest breeze. It also has a slight vertical bend which makes the shape even more effective (kind of like a sail on a ship). The entire chime is lightweight which improves performance. I was originally a little disappointed when I first saw the chimes because they were rather plain, but after hearing them & realizing how well they are designed I no longer have any complaints. As I said, it does not have any fancy decorations, but I did purchase the chimes for their sound, not for their looks and these chimes have a wonderful musical sound. You also have to place chimes in an location that can catch the maximum breeze based on wind currents. Mine work best hanging from a corner house eave near my back patio. The wind swirls around the edge of my house on that corner & it catches the chimes with the slightest air movement. I actually have one chime hanging from the outside corner edge of the house eave and another hanging from a hook placed over the neck of the floodlight under the corner eave right next the other chime. They sound great together. The house eave also offers some protection from the rain. I originally hung them from a tree near my patio, but there was much less air movement in that location. Just remember when you hang chimes to pay attention to surrounding structures & air flow patterns to get the maximum movement from the chimes. I have ordered a larger size in this particular chime because I like the deeper tones better. This chime is not a large chime (about 2 feet total) but it has a nice musical tone (not tinny or harsh) for it's size. I will replace the outer medium chime with the larger size chime. I should beautiful with the two different sizes together. I will hang the other medium chime from the fireplace corner eave on the other side of the patio. I will have to test that location for wind currents. Hopefully the air currents will flow around the fireplace projection on the back of the house enough to ring that chime.

I went to Woodstockchimes.com and l listened (yes you can listen to their chimes online!) to every one they had. I fell in love with the deeper melodic tone of this one, came back here and found that Amazon had it! I was thrilled. I ended up buying 2 for my children for Christmas presents this year. They both loved the sound that this makes, the way it resonates. My son-in-law said it might put him to sleep! My daughter said it would be lovely in a patio garden. I suggested putting it outside their bedroom window; gently swaying them to sleep at night, or waking them in the morning.The workmanship on the chimes is impeccable, everything is top quality, no shortcuts were taken. No sharp edges, polished wood, each package was as perfect as the other. Very high quality. These will last and last.The Chime comes in a really nicely decorated cardboard box, and when you open it, the presentation is very nice. Nothing rattles, everything is wrapped individually and neatly. The chimes are wrapped large to small, sealed in a sectioned cardboard sleeve. The round top is wrapped in soft plastic and laid on top of the chimes; the clapper is laid on top of the round holder; the wind flap is also wrapped in soft plastic and laid on the chimes. Then everything is wrapped in a plastic bag, with a soft foam triangular wedge put at the bottom of the chimes to stop any movement.It is so wonderful to be able to actually "hear" the chime before you buy it. In this day and age, there is no reason not to. Thank you Woodstock for a wonderful site, and thank you Amazon for carrying such an excellent product.

Beautiful chimes and sounds great.Everything about my order was good.

The media could not be loaded.  I received today and the packaging was very good! It is in perfect condition and looks just like the picture. The sound quality is just as described and I love it so much! I got the 32” and it looks bigger than I thought it would which I love because I wanted the 42” but didn’t want to spend the money!

I use these chimes indoor and out. They have a very calming effect.

I love the sound of the chimes, they are beautiful. I'm disappointed that Woodstock has changed how they make these, as they no longer have an O-ring - now they just want you to separate the bunch of strings at the top and hang the chimes by them... not nearly as nice, harder to hang, doesn't look finished the way normal chimes should. (I called Woodstock direct when I opened my package and found no O-ring, despite the picture with parts names which included the O-ring... was told they recently changed how they make them)I am not optimistic about how durable the new hanging method is going to be... I suspect the strings will wear out and break much quicker than the metal O-ring, and that annoys me - for the $55 price tag, they could certainly include that cheap little O-ring that will extend the life of the product without much additional expense at all... when the string breaks I'm not going to be happy. I will update after they've hung for a good amount of time (at least a year) and *possibly* upgrade a star (but maybe not - I just don't like the new top! Will stick with the other company I've purchased from that include a high quality, heavy O-ring for longevity.)

Bought these as a Christmas gift for my dad who asked for a new set of chimes. I have these in a different color, and thought he would like the sound and look of the darker blue. Helped him install them and he Loves the chimes!

The media could not be loaded.  I have a few of this brand in the garden but wanted to treat myself to a larger one!As you can see I have put it on a branch under my bedroom window as the sound is so relaxing I like to hear it even when I am in bed.These are tuned so well that you don’t have that hollow tinny sound.It’s melodic and musical and so pleasant to hear!My sister loves it so much too she has bought one!You really can’t appreciate how much better this brand is compared to cheap wind chimes!Saving up for another!

Purchased this in memory of our beloved dog who passed away. Beautifully constructed and you can see the workmanship that has gone into it. The sound is just to lovely and gentle and it was great that you could visit Woodstock on line and hear the different chimes. I would never hesitate to purchase Woodstock again.
