Fantastic clock. Small
Fantastic clock. Small, minimalist, and best of all, the ticking sound of the second hand is quite nearly non-existent. Great little clock to place by the desk or bedside drawers.Downside: No luminous clock face (but I have a desk lamp so it's fine for me)

silent, attractive and kept time really well for three days...
I’ve owned a couple Casio TQ140 Travel Alarm Clocks and they ran great for many years, dying due to leaking AA batteries. I decided to try a different model and the Seiko QHE083WLH landed in my mailbox. The Seiko and Casio cost the about same but the Seiko has a smaller face due to the frame. Both are basic models with an analog face for time and single alarm. The Seiko uses a single combo dial to set both time and alarm while the Casio has separate dials for each function. Separate dials are more intuitive but after a couple days practice on the Seiko I quit accidentally changing time while resetting the alarm! And that pulsing crescendo beep alarm can wake me from the deepest sleep! The tiny alarm on-off switch is located on the back panel: a clean appearance but far less convenient than the big top button of the Casio. Seiko obviously designed a tiny and awkwardly placed switch to force you to wake up enough to find the darn thing...This Seiko is the quietest clock I’ve owned and is inaudible unless actually pressed against the ear. And, while pressed on the ear, it doesn’t tick but has a pianissimo rumble of little gears turning. The Casio is silent on a nightstand but has an audible tick if held within a few inches of the ear.All in all this is a good basic travel alarm: silent operation, attractive and keeps time well. The cons are awkward controls and smaller face due to a thick frame.01/12/2016 Update: after three days of use it simply stopped working. A new battery didn't help so it's going back to Amazon...

LOVE IT
This is a great product. The main reason I like it is because it does NOT go "click click" and keep me awake. It is TOTALLY SILENT in its operation. I also like the small size, light weight, and simplicity of design. I have already recommended it to many family members and friends. I have also given two for gifts. This clock is wonderful for travel or for bedside. Highly recommend it.

this clock makes it easy to keep tab of the time in the dark
While this clock is small and quiet, it absolutely is NOT visible in the dark (which is a basic requirement for an alarm clock, one would think). I bought it because the description said "With luminous hands and markers, this clock makes it easy to keep tab of the time in the dark." This is patently false. If it had been true, this would indeed be a perfect alarm clock, as it is nice to look at, compact, and indeed quiet as promised. However, if one cannot see the time at night, it is fairly useless in the bedroom. The only reason I am not returning it is because I decided that it is fine tucked away in the corner of my living room, where a large wall clock would be annoying, but a small clock is a nice convenience.

Design can could have been better.
Sounds perfect, loud enough. But the brightness of the luminous quartz is not bright enough to be seen at night in the room when dark, especially on the hr and min hands. The turn-alarm-off-button is at the back of the clock, and is small and inconvenient. The old style had it on the top of the clock, which is easier to push down and up for easy use.

I love it... but, it's half-broken
Great analog clock for studying/time managementNo tick-tock sound!!But...there is two problems that I would like to mention:1.) the alarm doesn't work at all, which is completely fine with me because I don't like to set analog alarm clocks anyway cuz I never been able to set it to the exact minute. But for those who use the alarms... this is just a heads-up. I'm sure it's fixable.2.) the battery cap is a tad loose...which is no big deal anyway as long as you don't drop it.

Just what I wanted
I wanted a small battery-operated alarm clock to replace one that died. I keep it on my bathroom counter and use it for a backup alarm if the power goes off. This one is perfect for that. It's 2.25 inches square, has an easy to read dial, Is silent, keeps perfect time, and has a cheerful alarm

Basic alarm clock. Dial and numbers are not very bright at night. Alarm is loud. This is NOT a quiet clock like the description says. You can hear the movement of the internal parts as you're trying to get to sleep.
