Building Barbecues & Outdoor Kitchens

There were not too many books on the market when I decided to build my own barbque. This book helped me understand what I was getting myself into, but it fell short of giving me all the information I needed for my project. But it was a good resource. 3 out of 5 stars!

as described, a good book for a DIY guy to get him/her started in designing your own, its more of a idea/concept of design book and not full of the details that someone without a clue may need..... but then again they would bugger it up even if they had detailed instructionsgood value for money

Was most complete of the books I looked at. It was well illustrated and written for easy understanding and use.

I wish someone would realize that we all don't want our entire yard taken up with an outdoor kitchen. The directions were okay but save your money. Go buy a decent grill and have fun!

There are several outdoor kitchens I liked in this book. Easy to understand, great pictures. Now to find the time to build one...

Good book for getting design ideas. Obviously not all were in my budget range but still were fun to look at.

I was looking for information on building a brick smoker/fireplace/grill. This book has some great pictures of some really cool setups like what I am looking for, but the projects they provide plans for do not cover what I want to do. In fact, this book is really only helpful if you are looking to build an island and add in your own pre-built grill, which seems to be mostly what this book covers.

I'm about to start work building an outside kitchen and bought this as a thought-starter an to get some advice on design aspects.I'd anticipated a text with practical advice on where to site a kitchen, the key design considerations and how to integrate different kinds of barbecue and sink and so on.This book is basically an account of about 15 specific barbecue projects - if one of them is exactly what you want to do, then great, but if you want some broader advice it's not so useful.

Very useful to give ides and basic guidliens for outdoor building projects bought a few different books to take a bit from each in order to crete large BBQ/outdoor kitchen build

I thought that the book would content lots of different projects for building a barbecue, but there only a few of them. We were very disappointed :-(
