This new, enhanced, version of the Mini Tobago has been improved in a number of ways. The pack is now armor plate compatible, with an opening for adding a protective soft armor panel (armor not included). Additional side pockets have also been added to the upper section on each side for even more storage options. Finally, the belt has been replaced with a padded mesh covered pouch for your pistol with left or right handed access to your weapon. The pack is hydration compatible with a center, right or left side hose-routing system. The inside main compartment has two zippered mesh pockets, as well as bladder and armor panel pouches. The inside front compartment has three open top pockets, two pistol magazine/cell phone pouches, a pencil holder, and key holder. The front compartment features a vertical zipper opening suitable for storing an iPad or other tablet or for stowing a pistol. The lower front pocket has three inside mesh compartments to secure smaller items. The four side zippered compartments can hold your electronics, cords, first aid, or personal items. The pack also contains a wealth of MOLLE webbing that allows the attachment of additional pouches or other MOLLE compatible accessories. Finally, the bottom of the pack includes loops for a bedroll or jacket attachment. Once you're geared up, the pack's thickly padded, adjustable, removable shoulder and sternum straps will help you comfortably bear your load.If you love your original Tobago and want something smaller for a shorter excursion, or if you simply lack the physical stature required to tote a 60 liter pack, then this is a great alternative. It’s built from the same materials, just as tough as the original, with many of the same features.Pack measures 14 x 9 x 17.5 inches and holds approximately 25 liters.

Useful Goldilocks Pack from Voodoo Tactical
First let me explain, I am not a soldier or SWAT team member. I'm just and ordinary Joe who likes the customizability of the MOLLE packs and gear. I recently went to Walt Disney World and brought with me a small hydration pack (Condor's Compact Assault Pack) as WDW in the Florida heat was strenuous to say the least. I discovered that my backpack was too small which precipitated the search for a new one. I also have a voodoo Matrix bag and that is too big to be used as a daypack. (That one was great for a 7 day vacation.) So I needed a "goldilocks pack" I like the quality of voodoo's construction, so I started there.PROS:The Mini Tobago is a good size for me. It is small enough to function as a hiking daypack, with plenty of room for poncho, food, the hydration bladder (more on that later) a jacket, etc. I feel it is set up inside to work equally well as a work backpack with room for books, computer, pens, thumbdrives, etc. I recently took it to the library and loaded up with 7-8 "for dummies" sized books and biked home.Another great feature is the waist and sternum straps. The waist strap is padded where it hits your hips. That doesn't sound like much, but on a pack this size, that is a great feature to take the load off your shoulders. The pack stays in place solidly as I biked to and from the library (about 2mi round trip). The shoulder straps have a quick release on them that is very useful to slide the pack of quickly when you want a break on a hike.Inside the main compartment is two zippered areas with mesh so you can see exactly what is in there.Inside the upper front compartment is a place for pens, and a clip for keys. Also two "radio pouch" pockets that would be perfect for phone. The lower front pouch is completely separate zippered area with more mesh interior pockets. One of the coolest features is a small vertical side-zippered area on the front pouch that will fit my 8" samsung tablet nicely and allow me to grab it without searching through the whole pack. This pack has compression straps to keep the bag small and the load tight. Even loaded it should fit under an airline seat, but I haven't tried that yet. There are MOLLE straps everywhere on the outside of this pack. I like that because I can add pouches and extend the size of this pack. I can also put a MOLLE hydration pouch on the outside of the pack so the contents inside don't get wet if there is a leak. The zippers are very sturdy and smooth and there are three carrying handles (one top, and one one on each side) so it can be grabbed and tossed into the truck, trunk or C-130.CONS:Of course, I want to be balanced and not overlook a few things that annoy me. There is no place to hand the bladder inside the pack, just a sleeve to slide it into. The bladder will sit right up against the back (sweaty and hot) and then warm up quickly, I am sure). This isn't an issue as I am putting one externally, but may be for some. The shoulder straps are adjustable, but the tops of them are not sewn to the padding. This makes for a flopping when the strap is fitted over the shoulder and may require seating. I plan on fixing this by running a slight had stitch to tack it down, since I have the shoulder straps happily adjusted to my height and can then finish that part. Sewn velcro may also work too if I can find some in tan.The back has some standoff padding that intends to increase airflow, it could be thicker. Not too sure how that will work, more on that after I use it .OVERALL:I love this bag for a couple of reasons. The Mini Tobago is perfect size for a daypack, but could be expanded if necessary with all the MOLLE webbing. The straps fit great and can be adjusted to fit different sized folks. (even folks with a 40" waistline like me!) I believe it to be a useful pack for civilians as well as our comrades in arms because the construction is sound. Bottom line: I wish I would have had this pack on the WDW trip!
