I have viewed this movie on and off over the years and I find comfort in this when I am moving through something and I want to watch some easy going. I adore Queen Latifah and this movie is no exception. There are a few actors in this film I could have done without but no matter, a great little story about a single mom/widow paving her own path to business ownership and overcoming competitive adversity along the way. Women coming together and ultimately making an inclusive space for beauty and conversation. Is this predictable? Yes. Does it challenge the mind and push your boundaries to be a kinder human? Maybe. But if you are home sitting on the sofa reading this review wondering if you should dive in or not, just do the thing! It's the movie you didn't know you needed- funny, easy to watch and predictable. Sometimes you just need to predictability to help you relax.

A cute little rom com that centers around a talented hairstylist struggling to make her beauty salon profitable. I was a little uncomfortable with how the black women treated the white women when the white women did nothing to elicit their hatred. If the white women did the same thing to the black women, people would be quick to call it offensive and racist. So, why is it okay to demean the white girls who just want to hang with the cool people who just happen to be black?

This movie, which is a spin-off of the Barbershop film series, is set in Atlanta. It has a sassy feminine vibe as opposed to the intimate men's club vibe. This movie varies from the others in that it doesn't try to be political or make any bold statements. It is less intense than the other movies but has more laughs. I have to admit that I laughed nonstop. The acting in this film is excellent, and the story is well-written. The rating is a little deceiving, in my opinion, as this is more of an adult or older teen movie. Without a doubt, I'll watch this movie again.

Just sit back and enjoy the story and be prepared to smile at the surprise ending!

I really loved how she had determination and an idea to run with and she did and took chances that a lot of us don’t do because we’re too fearful of what will happen. More of a adult or 14 and above movie all the actresses and actors are really good at portraying their parts

I have seen this movie a few times and have always enjoyed watching it! I totally recommend watching it!!

Hallo,ich hatte den Film bestellt, weil wir von Queen Latifah in "Noch einmal Ferien" und "Hairspray" begeistert waren.Beauty Shop reicht leider nicht an die beiden heran. Zotige Sprüche und derbe Unterhaltungen können durchaus sehr witzig und unterhaltsam sein - sind es aber eben nicht automatisch. Hier bleibt der Witz aussen vor.Schade. Die Story hätte im Prinzip einen netten Film hergeben können - die Gelegenheit wurde vertan.Leider von uns nur zwei Sterne für "Beauty Shop" - aber große Empfehlung für die zwei oben erwähnten Filme!vgH.Hellwig

Ich schätze Queen Latifah als Schauspielerin, ihre Ausstrahlung und Schlagfertigkeit ist es auch, was den Film sehenswert macht. Insgesamt recht Unterhaltsam, da auch große Sprüche keinesfalls zu kurz kommen, aber die Handlung an sich ist eher flach.Wem Filme wie Next Friday oder ähnliche gefallen haben, der wird auch hier nicht enttäuscht sein.

Ich liebe diesen Film. Humor und Queen Latifah passen einfach perfekt zusammen. Eine selbstbewusste Frau die Ihren Traum vom eigenen Beauty Laden verwirklicht und sich Herausforderungen stellt. Dabei findet sie wieder eine Liebe und schätzt ihre Kolleginnen von Tag zu Tag mehr trotz anfänglicher Skepsis.
