This was a refurb unit. Works flawlessly and has no defects that I can find. Yes, the fader works as intended. No issues and I love this thing.

Missing pad #3 entirely. Fingers crossed for a replacement without disappointments

RECORD and PLAY key missing, very sadly.

Do not install the knob for the fader before checking that the fader operates fully. The fader knob is not shaped to fit the slider and it can easily be damaged. I recommend leaving this knob off.This is a good deal on a fun and useful machine. My first order had a bad slider and it wasn't a problem returning it and ordering another (that worked). TE's customer service is pretty much self-serve so I'm glad I purchased this refurbished with a good warranty. I'm leaving off one star because I knew about the possibility of a faulty fader, but I assumed a refurbished unit would be just that. Not a big deal. It was easy to get a replacement.

I expected a steep learning curve but it really wasn't too bad. The manual is super clear and helpful and it didn't take long to feel like I knew enough to get going. Good price point for a neat and inspiring instrument. Stock up on AA batteries!
