Watch the sizing!
I gave my first pair of another brand of compression sleeves to my husband, who is training for a marathon. I love them, but decided to try this Meister brand this time because they have a little pizzazz with the chevrons. I am 5'4", 105 lbs., size 7 foot, 13.5 inch calves. I run 35 miles a week, so I bought these primarily to reduce leg fatigue and help with 'veining'. I have to say these are quite tight. I had chevron shaped impressions on my calves after my run! Several reviews recommended sizing up, but I got a medium, because I measured at the low end of the recommended size range for medium and I have small ankles. However, I cannot imagine someone with bigger calves than mine being comfortable in this size. It's a matter of preference how tight you want these things, but I would say if they were any more tight on me they would be uncomfortable and even numbing. So, if you are on the higher half of the recommended sizing range based on the chart for this brand, it's probably wise to size up, especially if you have a big foot or large ankles. Perhaps they will give a little over time.

Great compression, quality-made item. Minor issue is the lack of flexibility.
They provide great compression, and seem to be a quality item. They work great for my needs, but there's a minor problem (major to some) I might point out: While they are the perfect size for my leg (not too tight or loose), and the work great once I get them on, they are quite a chore to get on and off over my foot. I don't have overly large or wide feet or anything either. These just don't flex a whole lot. That said, I'm a 42 year old, strong, healthy, daily runner who gets shin splints at times (which is what I need these for), so using a little muscle and force is not a problem for me. If you are much older, or have problems with arthritis or bending, or muscular pain or weakness, I doubt you will be happy with these. You'll probably find you just can't get them on. I also have a pair of Zansah sleeves, which don't give as much compression, but are much easier to get on/off. I use the Zansah sleeves for after workout, and these for during. If you're needing them to be easier to get on/off, go with the other brand.

The Shin Meister
These work pretty good. I have 15.5 inch calves and the medium fit me. It does take some doing getting them on... you have to pull the top part up past your heel, then fold the lower part back on itself passed your heel, then pull the top part high up near your knee, and finally unroll the lower part back down onto your ankle. They also stink if you sweat and do not wash them in between uses (go figure!). With that said, they did help considerably with the prevention of my shin splints. Note that I began wearing these early on in my running program in anticipation of shin splints which I had experienced in years past. These keep them dimished. The shin splints I experienced were still present, but no where near as painful as before. Now that I am seven weeks into my program my shin splints are nonexsistant. Not sure how well these will work in healing shin splints if you have already developed a bad case, but they definitely helped me prevent them! Along with icing post workout.

Love these. Be careful with sizing.
These are great. I played soccer and various field based games all my life, so when I took up Basketball, my shins are just not conditioned for the hard surface. I got shin splints quickly and they would bother me for weeks on and off the court. After putting these on, there is an immediate relief. Like a dulling of the pain. After wearing them for a few weeks on the court, the shin splints do not bother me at all outside of the court. I still occasionally feel some shin pain while playing (like when attempting to dunk or when I change direction fast), but that quickly subsides and has not continued to bother me off the court at all. I expect that I will eventually have conditioned my shins for the hard surface and will not need these at all.I actually wear them under my shinguards when playing soccer now. Not sure if it's doing anything, but the compression makes my calf muscles feel stronger.I'm 6' 1", But based on the advice of another reviewer, I ordered the Medium as my calf measurements put me right on the line between the sizes. I would definitely restate that if you are anywhere close to the bottom end of the sizing recommended for you, go to the smaller size.

So far so good. I was really struggling with shin splints and these dramatically improved my post work out soreness. I actually wear them under my shinguards during soccer games. They're not to cumbersome and seem to be high quality. The only reason I gave a 4/5 instead of a 5/5 is because, in my experience, they're good but not the greatest thing ever as some reviews indicate. It improved my battle with shin splints but has not yet eliminated it. These are being used with ice, increased rest, and less frequent impact sports. *impact meaning running, jumping, etc...Also, and this has nothing to do with my rating... this 2pack contains one for each leg not two pairs. This may seem obvious and is what i was expecting. However, I was cautiously optimistic it would come with two PAIRS. Cheers!

FANTASTIC!
These calf sleeves gave me nearly instant relief. I was having intense calf pain lately due to excessive high school track workouts. And these relieved them instantly! It's a little bit of a struggle to get on and off but that's how calf sleeves are suppose to be ; not tight to the point of circulation being cut but not loose to the point where you have to double fold it to keep it on. I measured my calves at 14" and I got a medium and it did leave marks on my legs so I'm assuming it's too tight but in a runners' preference it's not tight to the point where circulation is being cut. It's perfect !

Shin splints saviour!
For the price this was the best investment I made for someone who gets Shin splints all the time. Im training for something specific so my workouts are way more strenuous. This has definitely helped. I know it won't last long term but I'll definitely order again when these wear out.
