Nocturne: Dream Recipes

Argentine author/illustrator Isol is this year's ALMA (Astrid Lindgren Memorial Award, [...] ) winner. To my surprise, I found that in Astrid Lindgren's own country Sweden, Isol's work is not yet available in Swedish! SInce I got very interested to get to know about her children's books, I turned to Amazon, trying to find some books in English, which I understand far better than Spanish...I just chose this book, tempted by its mere title. Being the grand-mother of six, I have presented the book (in my own oral translation) to a couple of them. They were all a bit curious about the whole concept of what dreams are and ...can we decide what to dream in beforehand...but we have tried the idea. And those who remembered their chosen dream and what happened in it were thrilled. The book opens up a lot of thoughts and is food for good communication. Just two minor concerns: our youngest grand-child, age 3, soon discovered that the texture of the pages give a hint for what might happen in the dream; and...I am a bit curious to know what the chemistry of what is revieled after light exposure is made of, since it has a smell.
