I didn't really understand what they meant by vintage. I was thinking it was the cut, probably from the 50's. No big deal. I got the pants and immediately thought the legs were a bit on the slim side but that's the style right now until further notice, so I went with it. I've been a 32x30 forever and these fit pretty well, and have just enough stretch to handle the slim cut. However...After the first wash, I noticed that the around the pockets and at the cuffs, the edges were fraying. I'm thinking that there must be something wrong so I look at the other pair I bought and noticed the same thing. So... what do they mean by vintage. It means that rather than letting my pants fray naturally over the course of 5 years, hell, just skip that and get right to the time when I'm going to take them to Goodwill without all that having to wear to them and stuff.Seriously... What a waste of good material and good pant design. I can understand this with jeans coming withholes already in them so that you can look like you just got off a bull when you really just got off your ass, but for slacks? What a horrible design element. I would return them if I could.

Theses things are comfortable, well built, and overall good quality. The reason for the 3 star review is the sizing. Man!!!! These guys need to learn how to read a ruler. I am a 33 inch waist and needed to size up. As we get older our pants tend to shrink, physics, look it up. Really I was kind of a snug 33 so I order a 34 figuring I would need a belt for a little help, well, now my 15 year old son has a new pair of pants. If you need a 34, order a 36. These are on average one whole size too small. So I needed a 34x34 and would have had to order a 36x36.

I'm a thin guy, so I don't like wearing snug pants. And for some reason, everyone makes pants that are skin tight now. Just because athleasure is a thing and lots of people wear yoga pants 24x7, doesn't mean everyone like that. When I see "Comfort" or "Straight Fit", I think Finally! Nope. Not here. These are tapered fit, they feel like spandex and they are tight through the leg. That's not a cargo pant, it's a fashion pant. Tarbosh says no, no, no.

Great pants, well made, with subtle styling of back pocket & faux wear along the edges. Pants come up to a little below the waist & are slim by design. But they feel quite comfortable wearing because there is a little bit of stretch added to the material. Sizing is quite exact. I bought 2 pair 32W x 34L & 33W x 34L because I was unsure about the waist size. I normally take a 33 waist & these 33W fit perfectly. I took away one star from a 5 star rating because the pockets have button closure. Cargo pants for me are the way I carry my cell phone & wallet. It is very frustrating to try to unbutton your pockets to answer your cell phone or get out a credit card to give to a cashier as you are standing in a line. Functional cargo pants need to have velcro closure or even snaps but not buttons. As much as I liked these pants I ended up returning both pair because of the awkwardness of getting items out of the pockets.

It's a soft material like a brushed cotton, not the stiff polyester of most tactical style pants, so feels nicer and looks better. I went up an inch in waist size when ordering and the waist size and length appear to be pretty 'true'. But unlike most tactical pants, these are really tight fitting through the thighs and I don't have especially large 'thunder thighs'. Definitely wash in cold water as you don't want any shrinkage. Also, has buttons on the pockets rather than velcro, which I really like.

The 34x29 pant size fits in length and waist. However, the pocket and pocket button holes are very unusual. The button doesn't just go into the pocket flap, the button goes into another flap sewn into the top of the pocket. Every time I put on these pants, I have to straighten the inside of the front and back pockets. No other pants have this problem.To button the pockets, you have to open the back pockets, reach another flap sewn to the top of the pocket where the button holes are, and put the button in the button hole in that extra flap. For that reason, I don't button the pockets on these pants.

Fabric is fairly thick but quite soft. Belt loops are long but thin - accepts fat belts. Side & back pockets nicely held shut with buttons made invisible via separate flap. Fit as expected. Pants were available in especially short inseams - saves me trouble of altering them (I'm short). Because of the invisible buttons and straight cut they have a formal look, but that is countermanded by the deliberately frayed edges along the pocket seams and cuff. A bit odd but in keeping with cargo pants. Well stitched - looks like it would hold together. Shrinks only a 1/2 size when washed in hot water and dried on high heat.DougB

I love thse pants!. Sturdy and super comfortable. There's a touch of stretch in the fabric -- enough to eliminate any feeling of restriction, but not enough to make the fabric feel like anything but cotton.One down side: They have a really obnoxious system for closing the pockets. Large buttons inside another flap to hide the buttons. It's super awkward to get to the buttons. Didn't stop me from buying a second pair. Good thing I did -- the price has skyrocketed. Got the 1st pair for $20. Snagged the second when they were on sale for $13. They're now almost $40!

Actually bought 2 pair first pair were too high around the waist so we dropped down a size and they are perfect well worth the money
