Punches Way Above Its Price in Every Direction
Seventy-seven inches tall, under three and a half pounds, and fits into a compact carrying bag with a sling strap. That's the pitch, and the GEEKOTO AT24Pro delivers on all of it. Setup is fast once you're familiar with the flip-lock leg mechanism. The four leg sections extend smoothly, lock firmly, and the three variable angle positions let you get low, go wide, or go full height depending on the shot. The ball head is the real highlight here: smooth movement through its full range, a solid lock that holds even with heavier lenses, and a quick-release plate that snaps in and out cleanly. A built-in bubble level rounds out a thoughtful package. Durability is good overall, with one honest caveat: the leg lock clasps are plastic. They hold well and lock securely, but it's the component most likely to be the first to show wear after heavy field use, particularly in cold weather. Worth knowing before you take this into the backcountry in January. The reversible center column lets you shoot from just above ground level, and one leg doubles as a monopod after a quick detach. For travel, landscape, portrait, or any situation where you need a capable, lightweight tripod without spending several hundred dollars, this one genuinely earns the recommendation. Great bang for the buck doesn't begin to cover it.

Budget friendly without feeling budget friendly
I was looking for an economic replacement for my old tripod. A couple of months ago I was out of town and had forgot to pack my tripod. I stopped at Best Buy and picked out a similarly priced tripod. Even though it claimed to be able to support a DSLR weighing 11 lbs I was greatly disappointed. I tried it out and it felt like it was way too flimsy for my camera, which weighed roughly 5 lbs. I was afraid it would tip over. It definitely did not make me feel very secure. I returned it the next day. I considered going with a more expensive option after that experience but decided to browse some sub $100 options. I stumbled upon the Geekoto tripod and began reading the reviews. Those reviews convinced me to give the tripod a chance. I figured that if it was not sturdy enough I would give it to my daughter who recently got a Sony A6300 which is much lighter than my Canon 5D iv. Unpacking the tripod I was impressed with the quality compared to my previous purchase. It seemed to be a much higher quality. It's not quite as sturdy as my old tripod, but I knew that going in to this. I attached the quick release plate ( and here's one of my minor complaints, the piece of metal that you twist to tighten the plate seems a little thin). Once I secured the plate onto the ball head I was satisfied that it was solid enough to handle my gear. If I had larger lenses like the 100-400 or other similar lenses I would want a bigger, more robust tripod, but for my gear it seemed completely adequate. I use a Canon 24-105, Canon 135 L, Canon 16-35 2.8L and a rokinon 14mm. I shoot a lot of vertical landscapes, so I tested how the ball head would handle the weight. To my surprise it seemed very solid. It was easy to position and hold it's position. I live in Wisconsin and shoot a lot in the winter. My carbon fiber tripod used twist leg locks but in the cold sometimes they would stick. It would make adjustments to the legs very difficult and at times impossible. In the past I've avoided the lever locks like the ones on the Geekoto tripod, so I was curious how they'd perform in the cold. Well, today we had a blizzard and temps near 0°F so I headed down to the lake to shoot our local lighthouse. I was changing position quite frequently, changing from high to low perspectives. The lever locks worked well and I had absolutely no issues. I love to get low for some more unique perspectives, so I put the legs out to their widest position to see how low I could go without inverting the center column (which is still possible with this tripod) and was pretty happy. For most applications I don't think I'd need to invert the center column as it was low enough for my taste but it's nice to know it's an option if I need it. I haven't used a monopod much in the past but recently started experimenting with video and found myself wishing I had one. Well, the Geekoto can break down to one. I wasn't actively shopping for a monopod but having that included is awesome. Some other thoughts on this tripod : the hook to add weight is nice to have. I carry a sandbag in my car and with my old tripod I had to find a way to kind of wrap around the head.. it wasn't very secure. Having the hook will help greatly. The bubble level is one of my nitpicks.. it's hard to see. When the camera is mounted to the head (at least in landscape orientation.. I'll have to look in vertical) it covers up the bubble. If you look hard enough you can find it, but it is a little awkward. I use the level or grid on my live view anyway, so for me it doesn't matter too much. And one last thing, it's super light! I attached it to my backpack and the length and weight are not intrusive at all. So, after one fun test day I'd say I am very satisfied with the Geekoto. It's a good economical choice that doesn't punish you for saving some money.

Great travel tripod under $100
So I was looking for a tripod that I could always just keep in the back of my car, inexpensive and lightweight. I already have a ring light from Geekoto, so based on that product, I figured this tripod would be a good option. I already had a trip planned to the Gulf Coast of Florida, so I figured I would put the tripod to work. I took it to the beach where I was able to get some nice sunset long exposure shots. The tripod was easy to use, so much so, my mother who was with me, was able to set it up without any help from me. And I don’t think she’s ever used a tripod before! I next used it do some real estate photography for some friends here. And it worked well and I was able to adjust it to any position needed, easily and quickly. I wasn’t sure if i would like the adjustment buckles but they worked well enough for me. I really like the option to turn a leg into a monopod, I gave it a try and it was again easy to set up and then add back to the tripod. The ball head with this is well made and I didn’t feel nervous putting my camera on it, it felt stable when tightened. And the arca-swiss type plate works with my L-bracket so that is always nice! So I’m very happy with this for the price! It’s a great and lightweight travel tripod that i will always keep in the car and will feel confident using when i don’t have my main tripod with me. Attaching some pictures of the tripod in use!

Decent tripod at an entry level price point
First off, the packaging is very good. Comes boxed well and includes a nice carrying care. The tripod ball head is also covered with a little velvet bag that I guess helps protect it during travel. I’ve bought previous tripods in this price range before and this is pretty well done in comparison. Initial unboxing impressions: seems higher quality than I initially expected but doesn’t feel great or like it’s going to be able to take a serious beating. The leg locks function well and seem to hold pretty tight. However, they are plastic so I’d be cautious. The leg adjustment locks are also pretty well designed for this price range and use a nice press mechanism to release so you just press them with your thumb to move or close the leg. You can also open the tripod without pressing it but this makes a fairly loud clicking noise as it clicks through the angle options which I didn’t particularly like. The tripod ball head looks solid and beefy. I do have a few annoyances with the ballhead and also where it attaches to the base. First, there’s only two knobs to adjust and one is to rotate the base and the other is for the ball itself. I’m so used to having three and being able to make larger and smaller adjustments to the head. My other complaint is that the base that the head attaches to is not secured really at all. It seems like no matter how hard you tighten it down there is a little play in the base area. Not really noticeable unless you try to turn it when it’s tight but it is there. I imagine if you do a lot of panoramas or rotate your heads a lot you’ll notice it more. Lastly, the locks to secure the center post of the tripod don’t tighten down enough. I can still rotate the center column pretty easily. Actual use: the tripod is pretty light and while attaches to my backpack I didn’t really notice it all the much. It’s also relatively small and is comparable to most smaller “travel” size tripod from other larger brands. The legs locks worked and the tripod was easy to setup and breakdown between locations. I didn’t notice any issues really with the ballhead and there was no creep or movement of any kind and I was using a Fujifilm X-T2 and 16-55 2.8 so a pretty heavy setup. Not sure how it would handle a larger telephoto lens but I imagine it would be okay for light use but not as a go-to. The tripod felt relatively steady. I primarily used it with two of the leg sections extended for increased stability and this was fine. Easily stable enough for street photography etc. I doubt it would standup to harsh winds unless it was shortened or the legs widened but most tripods this size don’t. The photos taken above were using this tripod. Long exposures from 15-50 seconds and no issues. Overall I’d say this is a decent tripod at this price point. A good entry level tripod and a good option for people on a tight budget or someone who doesn’t need something that is going to need to take a beating or standup to the elements day in and day out.

A Great Tripod To Have
I love photography and have been wanting to buy a tripod for quite a while now. The one thing that has always kept me from buying one was the cost. A high priced first tripod just doesn't sound ideal to me. Luckily I stumbled onto the Geekoto company. I do a lot of hiking and general outdoors walking. When I came across the Compact 77’’ Aluminum Tripod with 360 Degree Ball Head from Geekoto, I was very intrigued. What got me first was Compact! I could carry this along with me without too much hassle. I looked at the pics, the features...and the price. I was instantly sold. Don't get me wrong, I don't know much about the specifics. But what I read, I liked. It arrived a few days ago and I took it out to try along our canal. To be totally honest...it is worth every penny. The fact that it can go 77 inches high, as well as being able to do inverted shots is really nice. I found the varying of the stand to be even better. I have since used it on the Appalachian Trail and it balanced out perfectly. I was able to drop it down to grab pics off the overlooks without worry. I have only used it a few times so far but so far it is quite durable. The frame is very lightweight and you can barely even tell you are carrying it. Another nice feature for me as I like to go deep in the woods for pictures. The rotating ball head also allows you to grab many angles while not having to worry about it loosening up. Quite frankly, this is a great tripod for the price. I am now looking into other Geekoto products to see how they stand up. I am really happy with this purchase. For anyone out there that is on the fence, hop on over and try this. You won't disappointed. It is compact, durable, versatile, and "cheap" in price. I am super stoked about mine. I wish I would have known about Geekoto years ago.

Amazingly solid and versatile for the price
One of my all-time favorite purchases. Amazing build-quality for the money, and it seems like a really well thought out design. I got this because I wanted both a tripod and monopod and didn't want to spend a bunch of money and have to lug around extra gear. This is a great solution for the price even for a pretty heavy setup. I'm using this with about a 2lb camera plus a 4lb lens, and its very stable in tripod configuration. All of the construction seems really solid and both the control knobs for the pan and the ball mount give good smooth control. The ball head has a nice Arca-Swiss mount. I'm sure a dedicated tripod with no central pillar and a gimbal head would perform better, but again, that would mean extra gear and money. I mostly use this as a monopod, and the ball head works great for that too. It has a cutout on the side, so you can fold the mount down horizontally and side-mount your camera. This way you can pan up/down with the ball-head and left/right by turning the monopod. I had originally ordered a dedicated side-mount to go with this setup, but the folded over ball head works just as well, so I returned the side-mount. One change I would recommend if you plan to switch back and forth between tripod/monopod a lot is to just leave the connecting bolt/nut in the bottom of the central pillar. Put a little lock-tite on it so it stays in place. With that already in place you can transition from tripod to monopod in about 30 seconds. I think this is going to be hard to beat if you want to spend under $100 for a single piece of equipment that can function as both a tripod and monopod.

Geekoto tripod is a supportive weight distributor.
I Love my new Geekoto tripod. Surprised; wraps up how i feel about this Geekoto tripod. Based on its weight I did not expect the tripod to be capable of supporting both my Canon EOS system and my medium format Hasselblad equipment. With 40 years of experience as a professional photographer and a certified photographic councilor, i have owned my share of Tripods. My Bogen had been with me for years, but it is heavy. Going on location to photo shoots with it has been enduring. The Geekoto is a feather weight in comparison . I love the smooth ball head . It swivels to any direction i need and does so in a quick easy move. For years I have been strapped to tripods that require a leveling of both the horizontal and the "portrait" formats. A number of corrections have always been a necessity to obtain the portraits that I make for a living to be successful with a high quality tripod. Now I find my work to be much quicker and easier to do with the feather weight Geekoto. The center Monopod which is easily removed made for a smooth shoot this last Friday evening while working with high fashion models on the runway that I had the pleasure of covering. Being a 62 year old woman who has worked with Firomyalgia for years. The Geekoto is making my photography much simpler to do. The following morning I did not wake up with the usual sore shoulders and neck from having carried so much weight the night before. Geekoto's telescoping legs are secure and they glide together to make for a fashion shoot that runs like a well oiled machine. Each component locks into place securely as i am able to raise the height of the Monopod and lower both the Mono and Tripod easily. There is a removable camera quick release as well. Now I can mount even the Hasselblad a breeze to connect. There is a green leveling bubble "plumb" indicator that signals my instant confirmation of being locked in. Geekoto has also added a feature I find to be unique, that being an anchoring hitch tool. The anchor hook allows for a weight to be added to the tripods center for working outdoors in windy conditions. The Geektoto tripod is what i consider to be a good "field" equipment device. There is a nice nylon black water proof carrying case that fits easily into the trunk of my car.

Great Value Tripod
I bought a Geekoto AT24 Pro Dreamer Camera Tripod to replace two ancient aluminum tripods, one big and heavy, the other small and light. I wanted to switch from the old-style tripod with multiple levers to adjust position and pan to a ball-style head. After searching through dozens of similar Chinese-made ball-head tripods on Amazon, reading customer reviews and ratings, I settled on Geekoto as the best fit for my needs. I needed a tripod that was light (under 4 pounds), could collapse to under 24” tall when folded, could get both tall and low, had a large, sturdy ball-head, had a built-in level, support at least 10 pounds, had flip-locks (I prefer them over twist locks), had a bottom hook, and supported Arca-Swiss quick release mounting plates. Oh, and it needed to look good and fit within my arbitrary $85 budget. The AT24 Pro Dreamer Camera Tripod met all criteria. It arrived in a couple days. When I cracked open the box, I was first impressed with the quality of the packaging. Next, the tripod is enclosed in a heavy-duty nylon zipper, padded case. Very nice. Once opened, the case revealed a gleaming black and orange tripod, solid but light. The ball head is protected in a velveteen drawstring bag. Geekoto even included a printed user manual, which is helpful. One of the legs is removable to use as a monopod, very useful for someone who needs that. It supports up to 8kg in weight, nearly 18 pounds, well over the weight of my Canon DSLR plus 18-200 zoom and flash. I haven’t used this for any camera shoots yet but will in the next couple weeks for Christmas and New Years. Given how easily and smoothly it operates as I’ve been getting used to it I’m sure it will be fine when I use it for real.
