Eta Cohen's Violin Method - Preliminary Book: Starting Right
S**N
Almost perfect
The start of this book is great: rhythms to clap and pluck, and leaves plenty of room to adjust instruction to the student's needs.Great building blocks of learning notes per string, and plenty of songs to practice the skills.I love that Cohen starts of right away with different time signatures, and thus incorporating music theory about rhythm/beat etc all from the start. It's nice to have some songs to play as duet. One issue: I would I loved to see the same build up for A, G, and E string as the start of the book on D-string. And I prefer to start kids on A-string, because it is a little easier to reach.Other than that great book to start students on ages 5 - 8. If students are a little older this book is a little too childish.

Brilliant songs, book falls apart
Great songs and colour illustrations but falls to bits. Weve bought two copies so far because the pages fall out and get lost. It’s a real shame because the songs are really great and give a good progression.
